"The room carpet in our new apartment was peed on by the previous tenant's pet, and despite our repeated requests for cleaning, it seems to be ignored. This level of neglect feels quite disrespectful, as if there's no sense of responsibility from the management. Regrettably, our decision to make this complex our long-term residence now feels like a mistake. It's been a frustrating few months trying to get management of these apartments to address a serious issue in my apartment. Ever since I moved in, there's been this lingering smell from the carpet, which I later found out was due to the previous owner's dog having accidents on it. I've reached out to the management multiple times, asking them to come and clean or replace the carpet, but it's like talking to a brick wall. They completely ignore my requests and haven't sent anyone to fix the problem. It's beyond frustrating to pay rent for a place that's not being properly maintained. So, if you're considering renting these apartments, I'd strongly advise against it. The management here clearly doesn't prioritize tenant satisfaction or basic cleanliness. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a place to live."

"I’ve only lived in apartments, and this one seems to be the best yet. Maintenance always done in timely manner. We signed on with Heaven, who was really kind during the process and renewed with Angela, who was also very kind."

"I have been leasing a townhouse with Charter Square since 2021 and the experience is satisfactory. Administrative staff; Keith, Heaven and Angela have been very professional and helpful. Whenever any thing goes wrong, maintenance comes right away. The community is very safe and near many restaurants, Fresh Thyme, and LA Fitness. The rent is $1899/ month for a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath with a finished basement. Water and Trash is approximately $50/month. DTE bill is approximately $80-$120/ month. Parking is “first come first serve” but you can reserve a designated parking space for an additional fee. They have a clubhouse, gym, pool, playground and dog park too. My neighbors have been friendly."

"It's a fine enough place. I wouldn't say it's exemplary, but it is good. Pros: - Convenient general location: Being in Troy makes it easier to navigate across Metro Detroit and is right next to I-75 for easier North/South travel. - Safe community: The people who live here are generally quiet and I've never felt unsafe walking around the complex. - Nice Design: Each apartment can be more or less updated than others, but the design, amenities, and layout of my two bedroom was very nice. - Maintenance: For me, the maintenance was quick, effective, and easy to request. Cons: - Big Beaver Road: Where it is a nice way to travel East/West, Big Beaver Road is almost always very busy, very loud, and very annoying. - RentPayment: RentPayment is the service that Charter Square uses to have their tenants pay rent, and on at least two occasions in the only lease I've had, I had difficulty actually paying rent which resulted in late fees and headaches. -Appliances: my appliances were either fine, or finicky. I had to close my dishwasher just the right way to start it. - Washer/Dryer: I did not have an in-unit washer/dryer but rather the building shared one in our storage space. Where I was lucky to never have difficulty with sharing with other tenants, it did have maintenance issues and sometimes soaked my clothes like crazy. To clarify, any maintenance for my apartment itself was good, but requests for the building (like the washer/dryer) were not always great. *This isn't inherently a pro or con, and might just be me complaining about the current economy more than anything, but rent was too expensive IMO. I paid ~$1300 for a two bedroom, and just didn't think that I got the value I paid for even when splitting rent."

"My girlfriend living in this place, building #22 unit #2812. Everything has been fine until management changes and some trashing people moved in place. Bu contracts it's illegal smoking inside of unit and hallway, but some new residents smoking Marijuana and smells spread across all units, many residents already complained many times including my girlfriend but looks like management don't takes any action and recommend call police. Interesting politics. How they see that. Management has authority enter unit for inspection but looks like they don't want. So this why I put 1 star and not recommended this place for living."
