Alethea works with insurance companies. John is hands-on with your dog, comforting and always helpful. I've been going here since my German Shepherd was a puppy, and they've always been knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy. Dr. Dendtler always wants the best for your dog and goes above and beyond, including calling specialists on your behalf to expedite care. If your dog is afraid or aggressive, Dr. Dendtler will show only love."

"We’ve been taking our two senior cats to Clinton Hill Animal Clinic for a couple of years now for their annual checkup and various small digestive issues (thanks to the recommendation from a friend who takes their dog), and have always had a good and easy experience at their office. The entire staff is *always* kind and knowledgable and beyond empathetic when dealing with everything from the scheduling to the breakdowns of everything involved in payments/invoicing/insurance, to, of course, the actual care. This we have known, but over the past couple of weeks we developed an even greater admiration and gratefulness for Dr. Dendtler and her staff when they literally saved our cat’s life after urging us to bring him in ASAP when we called about an issue he was having at home. Over the course of a couple scary weeks spent taking our cat back and forth from the office, hospitalizing him for a worsening issue, scheduling surgery, and then recovering from it, the whole staff kept us informed with multiple daily calls about our cat’s changing prognosis, clear explanations about what exactly they would need to do to make him better, and detailed breakdowns of the treatment costs (not to mention assisting us with insurance reimbursement and giving us options for other kinds of payment plans). It’s so clear how much everyone there cares not only for our pets, but for us. They comforted us when we thought the worst was coming, and celebrated with us when our cat made it through A-OK. Why would we ever trust our cats with anyone else?!?!"

"The care here is very thorough and professional but as a result the exams take a very long time and you are not even allowed to drink water while you wait with your animal in the exam rooms. However, the main issue i have is that they do not follow a policy of giving you an estimate prior to having procedures/tests/exams done or asking for approval of pricing before anything is done, which has always been the case any other vet i have been to. It has caused me financial hardship the last few times i visited as i was not made aware how much procedures/visit fees would cost beforehand and could not budget accordingly or approve only procedures i could afford. Because pricing is not discussed beforehand, the charges seem inconsistent to me as i have a limited understanding when i cannot see the breakdown. For example, i am not always charged an exam fee. For my last visit i asked on the phone beforehand for an estimate and was told about 30 dollars for vaccinations, however they did not say that it would be 30 dollars /per/ shot or include other fees in that estimate or the fact that the doctor wanted bloodwork done that day which i did not know about so i spent about $800 total. This location is considerably more expensive in pricing than any other vets i have been to in either brooklyn or elsewhere (even the emergency vet) and i just camt afford to keep coming here. I love my animal and am doing my best to get great care for them but this wont be the place for us anymore."

"They took very good care of my dog. They will fight for your pet and male sure that they are comfortable. Before my dog passed away they treated her very well and kind. When other clinics told me to put my dog down CHAC gave me a few more months with her and did their best to care for her. I highly recommend this place. They will treat your pet like family"
