Reviews
"The room is super wide, spacious and clean. In shower room is organized and beautiful. I feel so impressed to stay here even if it doesn’t close to any attractions."
"Pretty alright stay, which was 2 nights of my birthday week. The most displeasing parts were the couch, which was covered by a newer cover to hide the nasty stained piece. The service was odd because as we asked for sheets they intended to give us only one and had the same issue with towels the following day. The floor constantly smelt like weed and our neighbor tried to throw a party where they were being repremanded in the hall for my party to see. Still, the design of the space was eleloquent and I really liked the location for the price."
"The negative reviews are accurate as of December 2023. The pictures look nothing like the actual hotel. The lobby and bar/ lounge area is half dismantled and the furniture that is there is old and falling apart. Combined with the front staff behind bullet proof glass - it's truly a dismal walk-in experience. Major and minor damage in our room, strong smell of marijuana in the hallways, the elevator, when it works, is terrible, and it’s rarely functioning. I would advise to stay out of it (see reviews about getting stuck). The couches in the rooms are disgusting and have every kind of stain imaginable. They have been covered with a cheap sheet. These sheets are also stained. We didn't dare sit on it. I will say the rooms are big - so I guess that's a plus. Even the basics: fresh towels, room cleaning, and front desk greeting are overlooked. Your clothing will end up smelling like the awful industrial cleaning solution they use. Yes, it's true the towels will not wrap around your body and they are threadbare. There is a notice posted by the city outside of the hotel that the basement is structurally unsafe and therefore off limits. Scary. When I was checking out, I asked them to email me my invoice as we heard the person in front of us say he was double charged. She pretended to type in my email and press send— I never received an invoice. I am in no way surprised. My suggestion if you’re thinking about staying here: don’t. My suggestion for the owners and staff: think about whether your heart is really in the hospitality business, a good hotel experience is the centerpiece of any trip— business or personal— and it’s clear the owners and staff simply do not care about their guests or their guests experience. If you do read all of this and still decide to stay at the Brooklyn get your coffee from Furman's coffee around the corner - great coffee and food and really friendly staff and atmosphere."
"Stayed here for two nights on our quick trip to NYC. This hotel is conveniently located about a 6 minute walk from the S line. There is no designated parking lot and street parking is only available for free from 7pm-7am, and otherwise two hour parking. There is a paid 24-hour parking lot at the Shell station for $30/day. The staff is friendly and was very helpful in assisting us in finding parking. The room was clean, did not smell of smoke, and were quiet. The furniture in the room was a bit outdated and the lamp was broken; turned on/off, but was bent. The door to the bathroom did not close all of the way due to damage and it looks like there was damage to the door around the lock. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay at a reasonable price. We didn't spend a ton of time in the room anyways, it served its purpose, was pleasant to be in, despite cosmetic imperfections. We would stay here again."
"stayed here twice- the first room we had felt like it hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in and had a strong mildew smell to it. the bottom of my white socks were black from walking around the room. 2/5 stars for that room. the other two nights of our stay- we had such a clean and comfortable room. honestly it’s a wild contrast. based on our experience the last two nights- 4/5 stars!!!"
