"Taylor, and the team at The Vet Set, are amazing! We have a newer pup to the family, and Taylor was able to diagnose her (before anyone else) with a rare disease for the area. While scary, this allowed us to quickly get the little pup help. We are so thankful for the team at The Vet Set!"
"my two cats have been coming for years and despite the distance i refuse to change vets. before i start with the positives i will say one thing i dont like about vet set. i wish they would do checkups of my pets with me present. i like to be involved. other than that i love the vet set. the staff is so nice. i dont really interact with the vet too much so i cant say much about that. despite not coming very often the staff always recognizes my partner and i and our cat babies. that’s something you dont get from other vets ive been to."
"How do people give The Vet Set high marks? I was incredibly dissatisfied with my experience, particularly with the doctor. The rest of the staff, notably Amanda and Amber, were great, however. My appointment initially seemed to be progressing smoothly, with attentive vet assistants. While the vet initially provided an adequate explanation about my pet's condition, she spoke at a pace that felt rushed to me and lacked patience. However, I truly became concerned at the hour mark when the doctor came back and in 10 minutes reversed all the goodwill her staff had built up in the prior hour. When I started asking questions to clarify my understanding of another test she was suggesting, instead of addressing my queries patiently, the vet clearly frustrated, responded with, "I’ve got other clients I’m working with" with a clear message that I was wasting her time. I found this response not only deeply inappropriate and unprofessional but also patently offensive because of the amount I was spending, i.e., almost $1,000 in 60 minutes. Is it weird for a pet parent to seek clarification about the treatment and care of their pet? I made it clear that her response was inappropriate and emphasized the importance of not being treated like I’m being done a favor when I spend money and then ask questions, especially for my four-legged family member who can’t speak for herself. She changed her tone for the remaining few minutes of our interaction, and promised not to do it again, saying, and I quote, “I will never do that ever again. I promise.” Guess what, my friend? She did it again! The next day, she called me to explain my dog’s bloodwork and, to my astonishment, when I calmly said I still was trying to understand the rude treatment I received yesterday and would need perhaps a discount on something to warrant future visits (e.g., the ultrasound she mentioned), she loudly interrupted me and lashed out. She said, “You took 90 minutes of my time yesterday,” which is a wild thing to hear from someone who you pay $1,000 and spend less than 15 minutes speaking to directly. We came for vaccines and only stayed longer because they were telling me to do more and more tests, all of which I paid for, while sitting there quietly while they took my dog to the back. To make matters worse, she even had the gall to accuse me of attacking her character. It seems I only revealed it by describing how her behavior made me feel as a customer. This makes it evident that her apology during our initial meeting was not genuine. Such behavior, especially from a healthcare professional, is unacceptable and extremely concerning. Our pets, much like family members, require care and attention, and their health and well-being should not be compromised due to impatience or unprofessionalism. I hope no one else must face a similar situation in the future. Save your time and mental space and don’t go here. The doctor is experienced at animal science but needs major work at talking to humans calmly and with respect."
"It’s been well over a year since I’ve last been to Vet Set, but before sharing this negative review I wanted to wait until we were 100% transitioned to Bond Vet. To start, we loved the support staff, and our issues were specifically with Dr. Truitt. To summarize, we found her to be quite pushy, finger-waggy on everything we should be doing for our puppy, quick to upcharge, expensive, impatient, and rude upon any questioning about services/upcharges. We took our new puppy to the Vet Set and signed up for the “puppy package” which in theory was a flat fee for our first several visits for shots, initial care, etc. Yet, with each visit we left with a sour taste in our mouths with all of the random up charges on top of our “flat fee” puppy package, some of which were absurd. On one visit we mentioned we were traveling with the puppy soon, so Dr. Truitt took it upon herself to charge us $50 for a random travel certificate that no airline has ever asked us for in the 10+ times that we have since flown with our dog. On another visit we asked about some gunk we had noticed in our puppy’s ear, and sure enough we later saw a $30 charge for an ear cleaning that we never asked for. On our final visit, Dr. Truitt tried to upcharge us for a treatment that she had quoted us much less for on a prior visit, and when I confronted her on that and prior examples of dishonest up charging she completely lost her cool and impulsively lied about my prior examples (said the $30 ear cleaning was for an ear infection…which she had never mentioned to me until that moment?) but eventually honored her original quote for the treatment. We have since moved to Bond Vet, who we love and couldn’t recommend enough. There is always an information asymmetry between veterinarians and pet owners (especially new pet owners). Some vets exploit that information asymmetry (and our love for our pets) for their own gain, and unfortunately Dr. Truitt is one of those vets. Please consider Bond Vet instead."
"Cosbon loves The Vet Set. Cosbon is a super senior who loves meeting new people and demanding cuddles from them, so she's always down to go to the vet knowing that her new friends are there to cuddle with her, even if she's going to yell at them when she gets her nails trimmed."
