“As a lover of burgers, I can confidently say the burgers at S&P are worthy of a five star review, these guys don't play games with their burgs. They stack em high and make em fresh and let me tell you, they are naughty. But I have to say, you'll go there for the burgies, but return for the fries. The absolute filthiest fries I've ever had, in all the best ways. And what most impresses me, what would make me review this joint six stars if I could, is the fries are V shaped, meaning all the toppings and dirty bits on those fries just stays on em, you get a perfect bite every time. Just go, seriously, you won't be disappointed.”

“First time visiting last night while on my stag do with 3 of my mates and once there we didn’t want to or need to leave. Door staff were great and a good laugh. Bar staff were excellent. Great choice in drinks and good prices. The venue it’s self is decorated in a very cool style. And the girls? Well they were just awesome! Friendly, not pushy to get dances, happy to just sit and chat. But when you did decide on a dance!! Oh my!! Did not disappoint!! We ended up staying till 6am and I can honestly say that was the best 5hrs I’ve had on a night out in a long time. If I remember right I think we got through about 10+ dances between us lol. We will definitely be back without a doubt. Thanks for a great night.”

“Lovely, good prices, carvery was beautiful, they served you the meat or vegetarian option, and you served yourself the potatoes, veg, gravy etc... And 3 size plate prices, very impressed... Really enjoyed and loads of wine price points aswell... Definitely recommend if in the area. Area outside for kids, smoking area and views of lake... There was loads of fantastic offers for Xmas brekkie with santa, nye, jazz band etc... I'd love something similar in my area... But I came in train for a walk.”

“The Extended Diploma in Fine Art and Design course was one of the best courses I have studied on, the tutors (Kevin, Kirsty and Sarah) were perfect and made the course exciting and memorable. The course explored a range of different skills and media's with live and closed briefs. It prepares you for a job in the niche you choose or your chosen university course. If I could do it all over again I would, you really feel yourself grow and progress and all the staff are helpful and have an interest in your future, they're behind you 1000 percent. A really great atmosphere and worth the money (if paying). A bonus if continuing on from school like I did.”

“Malt shovel hull The best pub in the area been going in this pub for over 15 years + graham and Christine have always made us feel welcome never no trouble warm and friendly . Even with Covid always felt safe with the way the pub is run and a big shout out to the bar staff especially Clair and Anne always their with a smile on their face their a credit to the pub .”

“Popped in on Saturday evening for a take away, was served very promptly with an excellent pizza which was undoubtedly one of the best I have ever had in the UK. Well done !”

“I booked 2 rooms for my mother and sister in December 2021 and they were thoroughly impressed. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated with no sign of wear, the furniture was also comfy. The host's care really showed through their attention to the little things; the local information guides were fascinating, the home made cookies with filter coffee in the rooms tasted of real quality and the breakfast options were extensive and cooked to a really high standard (there were even 4 coffee bean options at breakfast!) I'm really pleased that this place is down the road from me and I will readily book other friends and family into it.”

“I moved into the Headline around 2 weeks ago and it already feels like home! I love the co-working area so that I can keep my apartment and work separate. Everyone is lovely, Joe, Coren, Ruth and George have been extremely helpful and I would not hesitate to speak to them if I had a problem / question. Jacob was helpful when showing us around and any queries we had before moving in. The place itself is impressive and I look forward to showing my friends and family around when they come to visit (my mum helped me move in and fell in love with the place and those who helped us!).”

“Would have to be the best presenter for ghost tours in York. Crossed paths with a few of the others during our stay and none had the presence of Dorian. Always in character, making us laugh uncontrollably throughout whilst providing interesting tales of horror as we walked the streets. Glad we chose Dorian, definitely can’t go wrong!”

“We attended the Fish and Chip Fizz night in York on 15thNovember and were not sure what to expect as this was a gift for us and the first time we had attended any sort of wine tasting! We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in wines. We learned so much in 2 hours- in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The passion and knowledge for wines was evident and the guided experience of tasting 6 wines both alone and then again alongside food was fascinating in the way the flavours changed ( or didn’t change!) “Delicious food, genuinely the best nachos I have ever eaten and the dessert pancakes topped off the feast. It was so refreshing not having to check if anything had dairy in it and just being able to pick straight off the menu. Fantastic cheesecakes too! Staff were lovely and friendly also!”
