"Lynda Healey (who has just left her review)' and I have been to The Sun Inn many times and have always had good meals. Unfortunately this time we both had to complain. I ordered the Ultimate Mixed Grill and upsized the steak from a 5oz to 8oz - my steak was good. My problem was the 7oz gammon, which was magnificently over-done, tough to eat, and very salty. I've had the same dish for my last 3 visits, so I have a pretty good idea of what a 7oz gammon looks like. This was no way 7oz and was actually half of the gammon normally served in the Ultimate Mixed Grill. The waiter brought me another one which looked exactly the same as the first, but a little less done, and a little less tough - but it was nothing like what they have usually served with this dish. Lynda and I were very disappointed after spending £30+ and the fact that we've been going to The Sun Inn for a long time!"

"Ordered rack of ribs , chips , onion rings, coleslaw , corn and what is described as " bbq gravy " at a hefty price of £12.49 considering a xl mix grill is virtually the same price ! The ribs were fine although a little dry because no bbq gravy was present, the chips were OK some were still hard then my friend asked for my bbq gravy ! When it eventually arrived it was no more than basic chicken and herb gravy , I complained to be told " I saw the chef (?) Put bbq sauce in it , my food was now stone cold at this point , needless to say after telling him that I used to be a Chef and that he should taste it the reply was oh well do you want more gravy ? At this point my head was exploding so unlike me I walked out to save upsetting other diners . When will these pub chains learn you can't continually serve cold, overcook, dry , tasteless food when people are spending so much money on a meal which often is a treat for a lot of people. It is not the first time there has been a problem with food and sadly after todays experience I will not be returning. Please try to get it right ."

"Jordan is very friendly and always quick to serve, the food is gorgeous and great value for money, music at a great level so you can still talk, lighting is perfect, dim enough to create a mood and there are fairy lights scattered around the pub creating pockets of brighter lit areas. An all round amazing experience and I'm glad to call it my local!"
