“Visited for lunch on Sunday, it was quiet and food was served quickly. We had cocktails and mocktails, one starter to share and two mains. The veggie Brazilian curry was absolutely delicious, veggie chilli nice but not anything special. It was disappointing that the dishes were served with plain rice rather than spring onion rice listed on the menu.”

“Visited here for the first time for a bottomless brunch and wow it's amazing! ! We attended the "back when" brunch and the music was so good! Great vibes and attentive staff especially when it came to drinks, I never was left longer for 5 mins without a drink. Food was delicious and it was just a great time! Would highly recommend and can't wait to visit again.”

“Always a great atmosphere in the box, especially if there is a game on. Loads of different choice of sport and very accommodating when there is something you want to watch. Great food menu, including gluten free pizzas that are really tasty. Also have a couple of spaces to book for events which is a bonus”

“We called in for lunch as we walked past, the 50% January discount was too good to miss, we ordered 6 tapas items and really enjoyed them all, the restaurant was very quiet as are a lot of places are but the atmosphere was still comfortable and the staff were all attentive and pleasant. I would go back.”

“Great New Landlord & Lady! Visited on a Sunday afternoon was fairly busy with the United Game one Multiple TVs and plenty of areas to watch the Game. Also a massive advantage when visiting with children was the Toy Box- Kept all the children in the pub very happy! Great Family Pub!”

“Don't usually leave reviews, but I was pleseantly surprised with this place. I thought it was just a nice bar that "happened" to do food, so I wasn't expecting much. My partner and I decided to go after a day of mid week Christmas shopping. For starters I had the duck which was absolutely amazing and the fried chicken for my main. ALL the food tasted great, even the chips! Props to the chef. The service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely come here again.”

“What a hidden gem definately be going back . The building is beautiful. It has been decorated to suit the building just fantastic. The food are very nice tv. Hot drink table with tea coffee and a nice touch 2 chocolate yorkie bars . The staff on entrance was friendly made you feel like you was going to visit your mum and the hotel was her home. The beds were realĺy comfy. They had night time entertainment. Breakfast was just perfect . We had full English it was just enough not overloaded however you could have cereal first if wanted . There was a nice selection of fruit juices too. Access was easy no steps to walk up .situated a five mimiut bus ride into the centre of York The bus stop is outside the hotel and on the way back too so no walking a long way to he bus stop .way easier than trying to get parked. The staff were all very polite and helpful .you will not be disappointed if you chose to go here.”

“Amazing stay! Reception welcoming and attentive, room was nicely designed and very clean. We were lucky to get a room at the top floor and the view from the windows was breathtaking. No doubt the best hotel experience!”
