"They have 2 doors leading to different apartments yet with same address. Does it make sense? No. Will the put up plaques to indicate what apartment numbers are inside the identically addressed buildings? No. And im sick if having to tell me guests they are in the wrong side of the building because the managment refuses to put up plaques even after being asked multiple times. Id gove 0 stars if i could."

"Moving out of this apartment was the most difficult process I’ve ever experienced. It took weeks to complete maintenance agreements. When my lease expired they made me extend 60 days because I never gave notice that I wasn’t renewing. Lastly they tact on extra fees at the end that I wasn’t informed of."

"If I could give 0 stars I would. I signed a lease based on photos online and the state of the management office on site. Both seemed decent, however I wasn't allowed to tour the unit I was leasing because it was still being repainted and whatnot. By the time I was allowed to see the inside, it had been almost a week since signing, and was past the 72 hour cancelation window. The entire building reeked of cat urine, it was filthy and dated, the bathtub inside the unit was rusty, the counter tops in the kitchen needed replaced. It was definitely far from the image they sell you. When I let them know that I wasn't comfortable moving into such a disaster, they told me they were keeping my deposit even though I wasn't allowed to see my unit within the time allowed for cancelation. This complex is not worth your money. Definitely save yourself and go elsewhere!!!"

"TERRIBLE place to live, management is not very responsive. Initially, water FLOODED (from outside along foundation area) into her first floor apartment (building 500, unit #3) soaking carpet and new mattress (I bought her) which the apartment maintenance tried to rectify by spraying to prevent mold as they refused to replace mattress (or carpet)! My daughter was told by the office manager that the apartment had NEVER had any flooding or water leaking issues in the past! (Really?) Then they moved her to a top floor (nicer) unit instead of fixing unit to prevent water flooding issue and told her no extra charge for the nicer apartment which is nice. However, my daughter had to hire a moving company to move her into the new apartment which is in different building (she should have been reimbursed for those expenses and time to move!) Now, in the "new" apartment, the refrigerator leaked which apartment maintenance did "repair" however, now only a few days later it went out over the weekend while not home and ruined lots of food including beef in her freezer which leaked inside and outside of the refrigerator. It smells terrible in her apartment now as she is cleaning the spoiled food/blood from refrigerator (today, July 5, 2021)! She has not able to reach the office to report issue but got their voicemail message that says to call 911 for emergency - which of course isn't appropriate for this situation - and the maintenance option indicated it was disabled or not available! Now as of this updated post - the maintenance option is available and they said they will be contacting my daughter! WOW! They must be monitoring GOOGLE reviews! Oh stay tuned to this post as I am updating it with more info including pictures!! WHO ELSE HAS HAD PROBLEMS At The Charles apartments in Lee's Summit?"

"Ive had to come update my initial review due to unfortunate changes since our first stay here. We have an apartment without a washer dryer unit this time and the ones provided in the basement have not worked for over a month now, causing a major hassle in how we have to do I lived in this complex 2 years ago, moved away and then came back. I believe this is the best complex in Lees Summit especially for the prices. Kasi is such a helpful leasing manager and the apartments and community is a great place especially with the location downtown. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice apartment in town to check out The Charles."
