"An excellent place to celebrate our anniversary in staycation manner when we weren't able to actually leave town. Fantastic and cozy place with lovely common areas, and our room's balcony saw a lot of use from us! We also walked to the plaza for dinner. Great experience!"
"Ideal place to stay if you come here for the museum. Lots of dining choices within walking distance. Whole Foods is about a 10-minute walk. Old but well-maintained. Floor is a little squeaky. Owner is not on site but responds quickly."
"My coworkers and I reserved the entire property at Southmoreland (and also Oak Street Mansion) while in KC for a planning retreat. We loved the common areas share meals and catch up. Incredible location close to restaurants, the art museum, KCMBA, and more. Each room is so beautiful and the history is rich. Justin at Southmoreland is extremely helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already rebooking for this summer and next year."
"Location is fantastic- we walked everywhere within 5-10 minutes. Nice room, comfy bed, we like the private balcony and off street parking. The shared rooms on 1st floor are very lovely and comfortable."
"My husband and I came to Kansas City for a show at The Levee and the location of the hotel was perfect! Walking distance to The Levee, the Nelson museum of art and additional cool attractions Kansas City has to offer. Prior to our arrival I had called and spoke to Justin who was super helpful and made sure all my questions were answered. When we arrived we followed the detailed instructions provided by the hotel via email. There was no hassle to get in to the building or our room. The room and hotel space was so cool! We had a fireplace in our room and there plenty of space for my husband and myself. The dining area overlooks a beautiful yard and just screams quaint bed and breakfast vibes. The floors creak--to be expected for a historical building--and adds to the overall charm of Southmoreland on the Plaza. My husband and I are definitely staying for a longer period next time we visit Kansas City!"
