"Orangewood Inn & Suites Kansas City Airport is a moderately-priced option for a stay in KC, especially if your activities are primarily in the suburban area. It's a stone's throw from MCI, and about a 30-minute drive (depending on traffic) to downtown. I stayed here to attend a meeting at the Harry Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence (also about 30 minutes away). The trip between the hotel and the Museum was simple, mostly on limited-access highways. The hotel is clean and has been recently renovated. The rooms are of standard size and include a separate sink area away from the toilet and shower. There is little noise from the airport. The hotel also has a fitness center (available around the clock) and a decent-sized pool (9am to 9pm) in which one can do some lap swimming. It offers a standard breakfast (included in my room rate) with eggs, meats, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, etc., basically something to everyone's taste and level of hunger. Fresh coffee is available around the clock in the lobby (Starbucks brand, freshly ground beans in a single-serve machine). The staff was pleasant and helpful. I had no issues with the technical aspects of the property and was able to check in and out with ease."

"Not sure why this hotel has a 3-star rating - Nice hotel, close to airport but not within a walkable distance for restaurants or shopping. Good sized room but need extra luggage rack - has only a bench for 1 suitcase... Breakfast was nice but many bottlenecks in area that make it a bit challenging to navigate (1 coffee maker only - takes about a minute to make 1 cup, refilling of hot food trays is done by hand, 1 by on1 rather than replacing the whole steam pan etc., waffle maker in a bad spot) All in all a nice place and I would stay there again."

"Stayed here with a group going on an early flight the next day. Pros: The interior of the hotel was clean and updated. The rooms were nice and really nothing stood out at me like at many other places I've stayed at. It was only a 5 or so minute drive to the airport. Cons: The parking lot up front is super small. You have to have a room key to access the parking lot in the back. So if you're checking in at the same time that others are, there may be some awkward temp parking that can block access in and out. The customer service for breakfast wasn't superb. We had an early flight and wanted to know if we could have access to some of the non-hot items. We were assured we could at check-in, but then in the morning we were not given access. The pillows are super thick (approx 10") with no variations available. We prefer much thinner pillows so it made for uncomfortable sleeping. Would we come here again? Probably, but we wouldn't specifically seek out this place."

"The room and facilities are clean and almost new. The staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was generous with a good selection. However, the lights in the room are inadequate. Only the bath and sink area are well lit. The bedroom has only three lamps with weak bulbs, and it felt gloomy. When I got a shirt form my suitcase, I couldn't tell what color it was without taking it into the bath area. I know they want to save on their electric bill, but now that bright low-power-consumption LCD bulbs are the norm, there is no reason for a room to feel like a cave at night."

"My family and I had a wonderful stay. The rooms were beyond clean and inviting. The lobby was very nice and my kids enjoyed the pool very much. Beds were comfortable and staff was always quick to say hello. Best part was the amazing breakfast in the morning, along with the free Starbucks coffee! We will definitely stay here again. The location felt very safe as well!"
