"Kinda curious what makes a four star hotel a four star hotel. Certainly not having basic things like a bathtub, microwave, or refrigerator in the room. Not having a pool doesn't seem to affect it at all. Four person elevators that take 10+ minutes to get to your floor don't do it. So is it just the absolute outrageous price for a low level building?"
"Great location to walk to many things in the area, along with speakeasy. Great job with perks for honor members(snack lounge), best out of all Hiltons I've been too. Also means nothing but good quality shampoo, conditioner and lotion."
"I recently stayed at Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton, and I must say, it was a deeply disappointing experience. On March 6th, at 9 PM, I called the front desk requesting a couple of water bottles, only to be met with utter incompetence and rudeness from the male receptionist on duty. He callously informed me that the housekeeping staff had already left for the day and insisted that the only option was to wait until 9 AM the next day for water delivery. When I expressed my disbelief and asked for alternatives, he callously suggested that I drink water from the lobby fountain using a glass. Furthermore, the lack of basic amenities such as disposable toothbrushes further underscored the hotel's disregard for guest comfort and satisfaction. Overall, my experience at Hotel Phillips was marked by incompetence, rudeness, and a blatant disregard for guest needs. I strongly advise against staying at this establishment unless you enjoy subpar service and amenities."
"Can't get food in this hotel very easily. Restaurant is half full, but you have to wait 20 or 30 minutes. Not much of a sense of urgency amongst most of the staff. And you can't sit at the bar and order food either. Breakfast is not great, not many options. One day, ran out of French toast, bar ran out of water. Elevators are hit or miss. Front desk said about the elevators, well they're old. Rooms are quiet though. Lobby had complementary coffee in the lobby, but it ran empty quickly early, and they left it there empty all day... just remove it then. Towel in our room had beer stains, smelled like beer. We stayed with many other families for an event - multiple families experienced "issues""
"I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Phillips over the weekend. The staff was exceptional. From the front desk, to the speakeasy. Taveronna also had a great breakfast. There was a mix up at check in, I was charged for the room when booking then again when we arrived. The mistake was swiftly resolved by the front desk with the help of management and I received a beverage credit for the inconvenience. The rooms could use some updating, I am not a fan of the 70βs theme. Everything was clean and housekeeping was great. I did ask the front desk on Saturday to have the sheets changed. When we returned we found the same sheets made on the bed with the same stains and marks on it. The bed was very comfortable. All around I had a great time and the staff made us feel welcome. We felt like we had everything we needed to make our trip the best it could be!"
