"Moved in recently and have been enjoying the building and unit. Office staff is very accommodating and attentive. Units are clean and modern. Lots of amenities and lounge areas. Cool little feature in the courtyard to connect to the firepits via an app and control the heat but hasn't worked the last couple times I tried. Maintenance maybe?"
"I’ve been a resident for two years. I’m not sure why the reviews lately are so bad, because since Green Lief Sandy Lofts took over the building and bought out Fairfield, things have been really good. When I contact the office, they are actually in the office and are approachable and kind when people come in. In the two years I’ve lived here I’ve never had a package stolen. The building is cleaned everyday, they even installed a coffee machine downstairs and it’s delish! The communication with the apartments is timely, the online portal actually works and is awesome. The maintenance men are very helpful, quick to respond and respectful. The utilities are pretty expensive with an overly high rent on top for the square footage provided, BUT that’s a given in Portland and for the cool amenities ( app controlled fire pit, business office with free printer, dog potty area, etc) it’s worth it to find a place you actually like that feels like home with a nice community. The neighborhood is pleasant, there’s a park across the street with an awesome dog owner community and the coffee at seven virtues and Sandy cafe across the street are amazing as well are dog friendly. 10/10 recommend."
"So I have mixed feelings about this apartment complex. When I first moved in 2022 there was a different company managing the property. Ever since the new company came in there has been lots of changes. First off, my lease was 13-months. I wanted to have parking in the garage but I was #16 on the waiting list, by the end of my lease I hadn't heard what number I was. So it's safe to say if you're moving in, your first lease won't be having parking to it. Also, the parking fee is an extra $350 per month on top of rent and utilities which aren't included in the rent. It's tricky finding parking because of the Dave's Hot Chicken and the new apartments that were built. Also the neighbors in the area will call the city to come ticket you if you park too long in the two hour parking spots or by the park. In the 13-months I lived there my car got broken into once but I think thats the era that we are living in in Portland right now. Second, there aren't cleaners on the weekends so the place gets pretty funky on those days. The trash room get overfilled like to a ridiculous level which cause flies and gnats and smells bad. Also, a lot of the pet owners don't clean up their pet's accidents. In the summer time you get gnats coming through the drain. But overall I had a decent experience, I had a large apartment on the first floor, I could rarely hear my neighbors only dogs barking sometimes outside but it wasn't like horrible. I'm not a dog person so the pet stuff gets on my nerves, but it wasn't bad at the apartments. I would rent again maybe!"
"Avoid this place at all costs: 1. As others have experienced, we had packages stolen by people who were able to walk in off the street and take them. Big homeless encampment with fires right next to the building and visiting family members were actively harassed by people who were clearly mentally ill. 2. We verbally notified the property manager that we were moving out at the end of our lease and never signed anything that would've led Sandy Lofts to believe we were staying for another year. I sent an email two weeks before we moved out, confirming our move out date at the end of our 1 year lease and they charged us a full month's rent because we didn't provide them written notice within 30 days of the end of our lease. They threatened to turn us over to a dirtbag collection agency if we didn't pay. 3. Now, two years after we moved out, they're sending emails and harassing us, saying that we owe them rent. For what?? We haven't lived there in two years and paid every cent of rent. Do not move here."
"This is by far the worst the worst living situation I’ve been in and management is equally as awful. Bikes and mail being stolen out of the garage/bike safe and mail room. People who do not live in the building are seen aimlessly walking around. The first floor has been the worst with someone ripping off all of their doors and throwing them across the complex, yelling/screaming all hours of the night, recently got into a fight with another resident…rest assured management is “working on it.” I don’t feel safe here. Please look elsewhere."
