"Living in this apartment has been an absolute nightmare! Over the past year, I've experienced nothing but the worst. The building is always filthy, with trash piling up and a general lack of cleanliness. There have been multiple thefts, leaving me feeling unsafe and violated. Random police officers show up periodically, adding to the sense of unease and instability. My neighbors are constantly smoking pot, filling the hallways with a pungent odor that seeps into my apartment. The walls are so thin that I can hear everything they say and do, from their late-night arguments to their music blaring at all hours. This constant noise disrupts my peace and makes it impossible to relax or concentrate. Overall, living here feels like a never-ending nightmare, and I'm at my wit's end. Additionally, the management was unresponsive and unprofessional. Communication was often lacking, and requests for information or assistance were met with indifference. It felt like they did not prioritize the well-being or satisfaction of their tenants. Overall, I would not recommend living at The Addy. The lack of maintenance, unresponsive management, and poor amenities make it a disappointing choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable living space."
"I've lived here for 3 years and until just recently, I liked it here (after all, I keep renewing my lease and paid my rent a few weeks before the due date). Now I hate it. Living here is like living in hell! I've had a completely miserable experience living in my apartment for the past year. Between my neighbors smoking weed, noise disturbances; the walls are thin and you can hear everything the people are saying and doing, filth in the building, theft, and random police officers showing up occasionally. Home is supposed to be a place of refuge and not a place of fear. I didn’t want to leave an honest negative review but my manager is unable or unwilling to release me from my lease. I am traumatized by a crazy neighbor who threatened to kill me, and the lack of compassion my landlords have- my life here has been absolutely miserable. I have not lived in my apartment for about three months because of safety concerns. I have unwanted memories, fear, severe anxiety, mistrust, and trauma from the incident. I’ve tried several times to convey my feelings about the situation. However, the lack of communication and empathy is concerning. I can honestly say that people who work in property management are typically mindless, shiftless, and dishonest people who will lie in a heartbeat to mask their infractions or "human error". I mean really, how often does human error occur. I’m not sure if they need to obtain compassion or a reality check. At this point, I’m convinced that they worry more about their own rental income and avoiding empty units. I’m disappointed with this property management and lost hope that they will do the right thing."
"Wowzers so where do I start? My partner and I moved out of these apartments a few months ago and I couldn’t get out soon enough. First off, I had a spot in the parking garage, which cost $195 a month may I add, and I got my car broken into. I filed a police report and Aaron the office manager was completely useless in assisting us, wouldn’t help at all and even said a resident had let the person who broke into my car in through the callbox. Did Aaron do anything? Nope, nada, nothing to help in anyway. Secondly, our neighbors across from us had people coming and going of the apartment at all hours of the night. Overall the crowd was very obviously not people who lived there. Adding on to this, I (24F) had a man around his 50-60’s leaving the apartment across the hall CHASE ME DOWN THE STAIRS saying “oh you’re a fast one”. I wish I was joking. It was terrifying to say the least and I never once felt safe here. Lastly, the apartment itself is very cute, maintenance was always on top of it and the location is great. But honestly, even when we moved in the apartment was disgusting and filled with husky hair from the dog prior to us moving in. There are so many other apartments for the price range/square feet that I wouldn’t even think twice about this one. You can do better."
"I just moved into the building a couple of months ago and I’ve had a wonderful experience so far! About the building: great location, great apartment, and great amenities. With the North/South streetcar loop right outside and several bus stops nearby, it’s been very easy to get around the city without a car. Should I decide to get one in the future, The Addy has parking available in its secure ground-floor garage. AMPLE bike storage available for free with security cameras, etc., to deter theft. Tons of nearby shops, restaurants, groceries, and gyms. My apartment has in-unit laundry, a dishwasher, and a large semi-private patio on the second floor. The spacious community lounge has free coffee, a TV, full kitchen, dishwasher, covered outdoor patio with grill and fire pit, etc. It’s really a fantastic place to live. And I have to disagree with the couple of other reviews complaining of (pet) noise and cigarette smoke. I’ve not experienced either issue and have actually found the building to be very quiet, especially considering it’s in a relatively densely-populated area. I never understood why people choose to live in cities and then complain of noise, but I digress… About the people: In several years of renting, I’ve never had a more seamless application and move-in process, largely due to the hospitality, professionalism, and kindness of Jael, the assistant community manager. I was moving cross-country back to Portland from NYC and Jael went above and beyond to ensure my application was processed quickly. She really made a stressful process as painless as possible. She ensured everything was ready for my move-in and has continued to check-in to make sure I’ve been happy with my new place. I’ve placed a couple of routine maintenance requests which the maintenance manager, Peder, has addressed immediately every time. He’s been incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind. Truly an excellent team managing The Addy. It’s rare to find this kind of genuine care in the current rental market and has made living here that much better!"
"I have never had a better experience with an apartment complex or manager than I have had at The Addy! From start to finish, the apartment manager Jael has been nothing but helpful! She has gone above and beyond to help make my move and transition from out of state seamless. Highly recommend working with Jael to find your perfect apartment."
