Parkway Apartments

"I love living here. It's the 3rd apartment I've lived in 5 years. We have two parking spots, water & trash are covered, updated flooring, & we got a first floor apartment. We pay under $2000. I'll never be able to find anything as affordable. Downside? They shut off the water like once a month. Plumbing kinda sucks as well. I've had issues with the toilet and sink and right now, there's water leaking from under the kitchen cabinet. Maintenance is quick to fix anything though."

"Unless you are absolutely desperate, do not move in here! The prices were cheap when we moved in and we thought we were getting a great deal. We lived here for 1.5 years. We went through at least 10 managers and had a months long stint where we didn't even have a manager. The courtyards flood and if they do and you cannot get out of your apartment, maintenance will tell you it's not an emergency, so you just have to find a board around your apartment somehow to get across so you can leave. There was a constant roach problem and they had a guy coming out to try to fix it. The guy was nice and he was legitimately trying, but they stopped having him come out. If you have kids, you will be constantly harrassed about them making noise outside. We never even let our kids play outside unless they were in the pool and we received many emails that were sent specifically to us telling us to stop letting our kids play outside. Our kids were inside watching the other kids destroy the property. And we got chastised for it. They will also raise your rent. After our 12 months was up, they raised it $100. 3 months later, they wanted to raise it another $85 DURING THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC. This put it over the new state law. When we tried to discuss it with the manager, he told us we needed to email the property management (The Equity Group) about it, but not to expect a reply from them. We never received one. They're super shady and only care about getting the bare minimum done. The pool, you don't even need a key for. You can just reach around and open the door. So don't let younger kids run around or they have a good chance of drowning if they get in there. Maintenance is also a joke. They do things the quickest, cheapest way possible and don't care if it actually works or not. Our apartment also never had hot water fully turned on, and they never fixed it. The plumbing was a mess. Constantly backing up and clogging. Happened in every area of the apartment, no matter what we did to stop it. They also turn off the water to the whole complex about 2-3 times a week, so don't expect to have running water. Just...please avoid them at all costs. They offer cheap prices for a reason. It's not worth the stress and the headache. We've finally been able to relax after getting away from that place."

"Great price for the apartment, right next to the 8 freeway. I live in a 2 bedroom/1bath and we get 2 parking spots. Laundry room only has 3 washers and dryers but usually no one uses them (from my experience). Dogs allowed, waste container right in the parking lot so you don't need to buy your own bags. Maintenance is very nice, as is management! I didn't realize how good of a steal this place is for the price until I actually got to San Diego. Moved from TN in June and paying $1,700 for an apartment seemed ridiculous until I got here and realized how overpriced the housing market is in the entire state of California. Electric bill is separate, but it's nice you don't have to pay out of pocket for water."

"I'm stuck here. Don't move here. My lease isn't up until December 2018. If I had the money I would break the lease & get the HELL out. The walls are super thin. Some neighbors don't care how loud they are. Management is useless. It's decent rent for San Diego County but this is the worst place I've lived in."

"DO NOT MOVE HERE! I’d give no stars if possible. The walls are incredibly thin so you hear everything your neighbor does and vice versa. Most of the people that live here play music very loud at anytime of day/night or are just very noisy in general even past midnight, and management does nothing if you complain, and will tell you to call the cops. The overall layout of the kitchens are rediculous, and you’ll only have one functioning outlet to work with so you’ll need power strips. You’ll hate it here after your first week!"
