Candlewood Suites Nashville South, an IHG Hotel

"clean and comfortable with spacious rooms, nice amenities. Friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay except for loudness of train. it’s so close to the hotel and is a VERY active track with so much banging-if you are a light sleeper, you need to bring ear plugs, a sound machine, or book elsewhere."

"We read the reviews but still booked a night. Friendly staff, clean, big rooms and very comfortable bed. The only glitch was I couldn't get the cooktop to work. I called the front desk and she gave me some instructions but I still didn't get it to work. I didn't call her back, so that little issue is on me."

"In order of Google stars, rooms, service, location. Rooms, the USB ports in the bedside lamp are broken. The body wash in the pump bottles are filled with water. Service, fully aware I arrived before check in, 1230pm. Every IHG hotel I've stayed at had no problem checking me in early. Front desk lady said they'd be unable to check me in until 3pm, the regular check in time. Usually the front desk radios to the housekeeping staff asks them if they have the room you've been assigned clean. If not, in my experience, housekeeping goes to that room gives it a once over cleaning, you're checked in after 15-20 minutes later. I questioned further, again adamant nothing is cleaned until 3pm. I was never rude, and front desk lady was really nice about not being helpful. Some battles aren't worth fighting, I let it go and sat on the lobby couch until 2pm when I was able to check-in. On the lobby television plays Newsmax, which freely lies, tells half truths, and very selective reporting. That's why everywhere else plays HGTV or The Weather Channel, non offensive television. Their room key machine is broken, every time you want in your room, you have to ask the front desk to let you in. Even worse, the front doors lock at 11 pm. There is a sign that says "use your room key or use intercom to buzz the front desk." Here's the problem.....there is no intercom. There is a phone on the wall with a sign "for emergencies." Is calling the front desk room key you in an emergency? Second, how are you supposed to know the phone number? Hope you don't have to go outside to your car for something and forget your cell phone in the room. Location, right next to train tracks, be ready for 1130pm train whistle and screeching tracks all night long. Photo documentation provided. This place fails on all categories for rating. "Somewhat new and mostly clean. Beware of train noise if that bothers you. You definitely get rumbles and clunks at night. Beds were decent. Shower was a little low pressure for my preference. Room was big and well equipped. Gym is big too. Night attendants were nice about us staying up late and hanging in lobby. Much appreciated."
