"Take into consideration when coming to Steeplechase. Once you figure out what your rent's going to be you're going to be told you need $300,000 worth of liability insurance on your apartment and mine is a one-bedroom it increased my monthly debt another $110 a month."
"I have lived here for nearly 4 years, and at first after move-in everything was great. The apartment looked amazing, the grounds were well-kept, and the staff was helpful and courteous. That changed very quickly, and has been going downhill since then. If you look at the 5-star reviews, they coincidentally only mention Bailey or the move-in process, but don't talk about the actual apartment complex overall. I wouldn't be surprised if they were being offered money for posting these outright lies. Bailey and Sandra have a terrible attitude any time you try to ask them a question, and Sofia never knows what's going on with any of her staff. They are rarely available during their posted hours, and good luck trying to call and get ahold of them. All you'll get is an automated voice from someone who doesn't even work in the office. When you do ask them a question, they act like you're stupid and should already have the answer yourself. They will outright lie on emails, threatening the residents with fines and fees if they don't provide things for the office that they're too lazy or inept to do. The package room is a mess, with opened packages scattered everywhere. The mail rooms for the apartments are dirty, filled with spiderwebs, and they only installed cameras after one of the postal workers was robbed at gunpoint. After the gate was broken, I asked the office workers how long it would take to be fixed again - they told me it would be done in two weeks. After that point, it took them over six months to fix the gate supposedly protecting the property. The pool isn't taken care of. It would be a lucky summer if it was open for more than two weeks at a time. Most of the time they keep it locked because they can't bother to get someone to test the water and keep it clean. The gym had the ceiling collapse all over a treadmill, and it took them three weeks to get it fixed. They left an open hole in the roof with water dripping into trash cans for at least a week. They've raised the rent every single year I've been here, but they can't manage to use that money to hire more office staff or actually take care of the grounds. Take a look at the dumpsters we're supposed to be taking our trash to if we miss the short valet trash window, and they're constantly overflowing. I'll probably get a response to this review that says "omg we're so sorry, we're trying our best to improve everything and we really really hope we can do better in the future", but there's zero chance that's been written by anyone actually involved in the apartment complex. Long story short, only move here if you're ready to move again in a year when you finally get fed up with the staff that doesn't care about anything other than working less than 3 hours a day. Open from 9:30am - 5:30pm? More like 11:00am - 11:30am and then 2:00pm - 3:00pm."
"I got an invoice about my trash being out on unauthorized days, so I went to ask them about it. They told me, out of their own mouth, that I should have received a warning notice before receiving the invoice. When I told them I didn't they sort of shrugged. Then, when I asked if I could pay the invoice with the following month's rent, they said "No I need it to be paid now", so I did. That whole interaction was rude and uncalled for. Then, after I signed up for a service regarding rent payments, I wanted to make sure my payments are being applied correctly. When I went into the office to ask and make sure my payments are being applied to my lease, the response was "We wouldn't have sent the notification out if it didn't apply to your lease" As if technology is always %100 reliable these days. She, I don't remember her name, could have easily just looked and made sure my account was updated as I did not see it updated on my online portal. Uncalled for again. Next, with this whole vehicle towing thing, I went in again to get assistance with the process. When I spoke with the Manager she made it seem as if I was bothering her by asking for her help i.e doing her job she is paid for. Keep in mind, they sent an email out that states "Please stop by the office if you are having issues registering", so I did. Sitting in her office she asked me, "Do you actually live here" like I was trying to register a vehicle without living at the apartment. Made no sense to ask that, and in such a rude way. I was shocked at the line of questioning because why would I be in there if I didn't live there? Or, you could have asked the questions in a more professional manner to properly investigate the issue. The apartment itself is cool, I actually like where I stay. It's the staff members in the main office that make these apartments not so attractive to live in."
"My apartment unit is in decent shape but if anything were to need fixing maintenance won’t be available for weeks. My dyer and dishwasher were going on the weeks before it was fix. When calling in to get a timeframe I was treat so poorly. The property manager is by far the most unprofessional person I have ever came across. She literally told me when asking for a timeframe she has too many people that need stuff fixed and she doesn’t get paid enough to deal with it. How her salary is my problem is beyond me. How she was hired to be a MANAGER is just sad. The rest of the ladies in the office are pretty nasty individuals as well. It’s truly sad because this honestly would not be a bad place to live if it weren’t for the extremely unprofessional staff and maintenance being short staffed. The whole entire leasing team needs to be replaced. Also currently almost 2 weeks in to having no microwave."
"I moved to these apartments in 2021 and lived here for 2 years. Stacy has been the Property Manager during the time I have been living here. The only issue I had was dealing with extremely noisy neighbors. Otherwise, my experience has been great. I have enjoyed living in my apartment and in this community. It takes a lot to manage a large property and the day-to-day activities. Stacy and her team were always professional in their conversations and in addressing any concerns that I had. I would definitely recommend this apartment community to live in!"
