Holiday Inn Houston SW - Sugar Land Area, an IHG Hotel

"This is a Holiday Out, because after checking in you want out. This was undoubtably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The elevator control panel was detached. The breakfast service, essential for my staff and I, was not available, yet was advertised. We were offered a single coffee choice and a granola bar, but paid for a place with a restaurant. The interstate noise was intolerable for sleep, less than 100 yards off the rooms. Roaches in the room, the desk chair was beyond broken (I had to balance and brace myself to use it at the desk). Remaining furniture looked like it was from government surplus. No lamp outlet would hold the prongs of a charger and no USB chargers. The shower handle spun 360, so finding the sweet spot for hot water was nearly impossible. At check, the staff/owner tried to add "incidental fee" charge to my staff, even though we had booked through our government reservation office. Holiday Inn does not advertise it franchises, in this case to unskilled and financially incapable owners. I won't stay again at a Holiday Inn. However, for a Motel 6, it was awesome."

"This hotel has seen better days. It is pretty beat and need work. There is no restaurant. It is closed, but they claim it is being remodeled. No work is being done, but I guess that's their excuse and they're sticking with it. There is no place to eat within walking distance so you better have a car. The vending area on my floor has no vending. I'm not sure what is required to have the holiday inn badging, but I doubt this place is in compliance."

"Ok IHG should take away their franchise license from this hotel. They do not live up to the IHG standards at all. Parking lot is sketchy even with the security. It’s not even lit up well. Lobby is clean but restaurant is closed so no breakfast which is false advertisement and no food at all in general. No amenities either. Elevators need an upgrade. Hallways smell like urine. Rooms are falling part. Carpeting is disgusting. No hot water at all for showers. Everything from the bathroom mirror to the furniture to the shower to the door is falling apart. Clearly the owner does not care about running a proper business and is cheap and only cares about profits. The pictures are absolutely false advertisement. Also this is not in Sugarland."

"I'm only giving a 1 star because a no star is not an option. DON'T STAY HERE! We had 10 rooms for our cheer team. The front desk clerk was HORRIBLE. He insisted on charging state taxes, KNOWING we are a school, which is tax excempt. After driving 9 hours, he made us wait 30 minutes, while he entered the charges one by one. Then the restrooms were all broken. The water from the shower smelled like sewer. There were several rooms with the foor open with people fighting, and potent smell filed the hallways. There was vomit in the elevator and on the floors. Terrible experience. DO NOT STAY HERE."
