"Long time resident here for 8yrs. Though the price is affordable, this is what I've experienced at The Claridge: a. Change of management often b. Refuse to release footage from resident hitting my car causing over 5 thousand dollars in damages c. Lack of visitor parking (both sons car towed even mine and no reimbursement to me) d. No renewed incentive e. Maintenance hanging in my apartment and smoking f. Door was kicked in and nothing was done security wise g. Broken in my car and busted driver's window and nothing was done about it. h. Cabinets are severely discolored and front office refuse to adhere to request made 3 years ago. I. Due to foundation shifting, it's hard to open and close the front door this posing a major security risk. j. Carpet is beyond treatable. Needs replacing, but I have to move the furniture according to management and staff. This has been requested for the past 6 years. k. Most recent, was resurfacing of tub in master bathroom. Painter came by first thing in the morning. No time frame was given. Needed time to get dress. Told him 10 minutes. No return from the painter. Called, text office, and went to office only to be given excuses from mgmt. for no return. Totally unacceptable after waiting 2 plus years for resurfacing to be done. l. Water damage to ceiling in bedroom. Patch work done. m. Rodents run rapid in the ceiling. Told mgmt and staff. Even recommended a company, but they refused to contact the company. I was informed that they have their own company. Obviously, their contractor hasn't done anything to rectify the problem. It is still a major concern today. n. Pet owners allow their dogs to poop on sidewalk, front area of stairs etc. Mgmt doesn't do anything about it. o. Often large stray dogs are on property. Most recent was yesterday. p. Resident dogs are not always on a leash. Really, a liability here. q. Manager and staff give excuses as to why calls aren't answered and text replied to. This is a business for potential clients or residents. r. Requested for building to be pressured wash because of dirt build up and wasp development in door entry. It took about two months to get it done inefficiently. s. Lighting is sometimes a problem here at night. t. Switch went out in bathroom controlling the fan with no light. Now I have two switches performing the same task which is fan with light. An additive to the electric bill. Duely noted that maintenance didn't know what or how to fix the problem. u. No known security on site to this day. v. Water is always being worked on morning, afternoon, or any time. w. There's an abundance of stray cats here. x. Professionalism is lacking in the office. Training is highly encouraged to all staff. y. As a resident, I have to question " What or who is considered a priority here?" To this day, I am not a problem resident. Rent is paid on or before time and rounded up to the nearest dollar. Which is an over payment. Loyalty has been demonstrated to the Claridge in spite of the above mentioned. Please, be mindful when considering this place to call "Home.""
"If you like a 90plus degree day/85 degree apartment at night, the leasing office telling you it’s just hot while other neighbors tell you how cold their apartment is, doing your own pest control, 3 or more trips outside at night to spray your ac to unfreeze it, $350 electric bills and neighbors that play tejano music so loud it’s never quiet, the leasing office telling you it’s just you complaining, then this is the place for you! Super rude apartment manager who does nothing to help. I was told if I signed a lease they would not renew the noisy neighbors. As soon as I signed they signed him back up. I asked for some blinds after 5 years and they gave me enough for the living room 3 months later. No respect for the tenants here. You literally can’t even get a call back when they promise. Don’t do this to you or your family. This place is miserable as can be."
"This is my first time reviewing this apartment complex in the 3 going on 4 years I've lived here and this afternoon on my only day off I come downstairs to see my truck broken into. I've known Spice Lane to have its problems with this kinda thing and felt safe here in these apartments. But no longer. I will not be resigning my lease another year and will never recommend these apartments to anyone I know. Stay off this dangerous street and definitely not move into any apartments around here."
"The apartments are very appealing from the outside & in. Very spacious as well. HOWEVER we have been dealing with a leak on & off for over a month. Maintenance come in “fix the problem” the leave & in about 2 weeks it’s leaking again. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to clean up the first few times because water was leaking onto the carpet. This last time my husband had to go physically speak to the office staff about getting a profesional plumber to come fix the problem. The carpet is starting to smell very bad & so I asked Angela if they would replace or shampoo the carpet. She said they would shampoo ONLY THE SPOT THAT WAS WET. After a month of dealing with this leak & being very polite about it. It’s unfair that they wouldn’t do something to compensate us for the inconvenience that this leak has brought on. Not to mention how they left the ceiling open & Sheetrock falling out making it a safety hazard as well. yet they choose to ignore my request for getting at least whole living room shampooed."
"Unprofessional office staff/management company representatives and getting maintenance taken care of is an absolute nightmare. They will literally hang up on you and serve lots of attitude! They take extreme offense to you wanting to be home for maintenance and will tell you they will come in whenever they please. I’m going on week 3 in an 80plus degree apartment and the management company reminded me it was hot outside when I complained that the managers were not getting the work done. Parking is super sketchy. Tell your friends and family to park on the street or they will be towed within minutes to the tune of about $250... You do not want to live here. Worst place I’ve ever had the headache of living in."
