"DO NOT STAY HERE! (3/4/24) I'm here for the proximity to Mays clinic. It's disgusting! Roachs, bugs, no sheets or blankets on beds, pull out couch has human sh!t on it! Will not change rooms , will not refund, has no sheets or blankets on the bed. Room was not cleaned! I wrote corporate and will be calling for a full refund! Sick individuals come here for the proximity to the clinic and expect to have a nice clean well kept place to stay, not filth and roachs!"
"Have stayed 2 or 3 times due to proximity to Rice and medical center. Price now 50% higher, but hotel has deteriorated dramatically. Hard to get sheets for sofa bed and no blankets available. Kitchenette only slightly useful because it isn’t stocked with dishes, utensils, pans etc. Upon inquiry, we were eventually given only 2 cups and 2 saucers over 2 nights. Nothing else ever available. Furniture scratched and beat up. Refinished bathtub peeling a lot. Breakfast was 1 type of prepackaged muffin each day. Homeless now encamped 1/2 block away. After night 2 we left for a different hotel nearby that cost less and was far, far nicer. (Would have left sooner except we were dealing with a medical emergency. ). This place is being run into the ground."
"Arrived 7 pm 2/20/24 after hard workday. Needed bath and bed. Settled in to find No Hot Water. Forced to take a cold shower - in February. I tried to call the front desk but there is no phone in the room. Using my cell phone, front desk did not answer. I walk to front desk and wait 10 minutes but no one comes to the desk. I holler to get attention but no one comes to desk. Another couple walking by said they tried to get help from front desk the previous night and no one answered and no one was manning the front desk last night, either. They were calling because there was no water at all. But when the girl did show up to the desk, she knew the entire building had no hot water and did not disclose that information but rather gave evasive answers. I left word for the manager to call me back the next day to discuss partial refund, but as predicted, no one returned my call. I strongly recommend you find another place to stay. I try to be very accurate with my reviews and state facts, not exaggerations."
"Two of the three times we have stayed at the Houston extended stay on Braeswood, the elevators were out 2 times. Once we were on the second floor, this time we were on the 3rd floor. The elevator worked when we got there. I had to carry everything down today. A woman tripped on the stairs at the second landing, thank goodness her husband was carrying the baby. When I alerted a staff member, he said it wasn't his problem. There was one time out of three the front desk was helpful. Their breakfast consists of coffee, tea, instant Oatmeal and prepackaged Muffins. And we spent $150 for our room, where was the 45% winter discount that is advertised?!? When we stayed the week of my husband's surgery, housekeeping is once a week, unless you pay extra. The location to MD Anderson is the ONLY reason to stay there."
"Carpet is filthy and greasy. There are no supplies available for the kitchen, even after a week here. I had to buy a coffee maker, dishes, glasses and flatware. The safety latch on the door is broken. The table is in the kitchen is coming off the wall. The dishwasher is broken. The elevator has been out of service all week. Dogs bark continuously and you can’t reach anyone at the front desk."
