"I pick hotels based on location, price, and breakfast. It’s a bonus if they have a pool, since we have kids. This hotel is in a terrible location. The entrance is shared with a Denny’s, which has a parking lot full of giant pot holes, that would bottom out a small car. There is also another restaurant next door, and if it’s open, the line of cars trying to park there, block the only entrance to the hotel. Also- if you’re a light sleeper, this isn’t your hotel. One side faces the interstate, the other faces a busy railway. 3-4 trains pass per day, including at least one at night. There’s no whistle, but a very loud rumble from the train. Other than the 2 previously mentioned restaurants, there is nothing else noteworthy nearby. Breakfast is your standard: cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, pastries. If you show up at 9am or later, you get what’s left over. They do not refill the fruit, or the pastries. They’ll give you a cup of the waffle mix if they see you want one. Kind of frustrating when you’re trying to juggle your breakfast, and your kids. The pool is indoor- but for our 4 night stay, it was closed for “maintenance” for 2 nights- which was a bummer.( I’d like to mention here, that we were there over the weekend of Mardi Gras break for Louisiana. Not the best time to do maintenance on your pool, when a lot of folks from Louisiana are travelling to your area.)We like to tire the kids out in the pool before bed. Once it did open, they had chlorinated the heck out of it. My kids walked into the room in a chlorine cloud. My son ended up getting a rash from it. Our room was decent. Clean. The bathroom door handle was broken, the tub wouldn’t hold water, and the shower curtain is so short, you’re guaranteed to have a puddle on the floor. I also had to go down at check in, and ask for more towels. For a family of 4, they had provided us with 1 bath towel, 1 wash cloth, and one hand towel. On our last day- the elevator broke. The dual elevators never worked the entire time we were there- only one side would work. On the last day, the second side broke for half the day. Considering we were on the 5th floor, and my husband is in an ankle splint, this wasn’t ideal. I mentioned the pool and the elevator at check out, and the desk clerk did give me reward points and an apology for the elevator. For as much as I paid for 4 nights, it wasn’t much of a consolation. We did not look for another hotel. With it being Mardi Gras weekend, most were booked, unless we looked at a luxury hotel, which usually aren’t family friendly. We decided to stay, and just deal with it. In closing, if you’re a business traveler, who is not a light sleeper, this would be ok for you. If you’re a family, staying in the area for a few days- I would choose a different location."
"Overall fine stay in a very updated property, possibly new I have no idea. If you are sensitive to highway noise be careful picking your room. Didn't bother me but could bother others. Couple hairs on the back of the bathroom door and no caffeinated coffee in my room but plenty of hot coffee in the lobby."
"This hotel is located on the side of the highway, which is very noisy. So if you are staying here ask for a room on an opposite side of the highway. The window did not have a blackout blind, which is a miss for this location. I had police cars blinking lights flashing through the window and bright spot lights from a gas station across the highway. The little white blind on the window is not good for these conditions. The walls are thin, I was awaken by a TV going in the neighbors room. The room doesn’t have a single usb charger outlet. It’s crazy for this day and age, huge miss. The staff was polite, but seemed unempowered. Had to text the manager for every question. The room was clean though. Overall, not a place I would chose to stay again, primary reason would be how noisy it is. Good night sleep is a must."
"Digital key did not work at this property. Front desk clerk indicated this is an ongoing problem for some time yet property has failed to resolve it. I communicated with both the property manager and Hilton Honors who refused to honor the 100% Happy Hampton Guarantee. Contactless arrival and digital key were both advertised but not available. Hotel management felt providing me with plastic room key was adequate and that I shouldn’t be bothered that the digital key wouldn’t work."
"I don't write reviews often, but the staff here are so wonderful. I had an overwhelming day and dropped my full coffee coming in. The two lovely women and the front desk did me an act of kindness and surprised me with a replacement of my exact order, just to cheer me up! The rooms are nice and clean, and the service is phenomenal! I'll be returning the next time I have a trip this way. Thank you again to Denise and Heidi for being so compassionate!"
