"This is the ONLY place in the greater Houston-Galveston area to buy treated lumber!!!!! I am deadly serious, as the lumber business has changed, and thereis nothing we can do about it! The Southern Yellow Pine have been genetically altered to be very fast growing. This is to help the Forestry Products industry to stand true to their pledge to plant trees to off set their harvesting of trees! BUT, these are not the same, strong, sap-filled, highly resistant to rot and insect attack, long lasting boards with which I have personally used for over sixty years!!! Add kiln dried, pressure treatment to them, and the best of them were rated ground contact 30 -40 years!! Sadly, the treated deck boards of today are not worth buying! I can never buy treated lumber from Home Depot, or Lowes, etc. again. It should be rated for only 3-5 years!! Projects I installed 7 years ago are now rotting out! Their treatment solution is thin, and offers small protection. It is a copper based solution which quickly corrodes iron fasteners which are not coated against that! The new growth trees have only 30% of the annual rings we are expect to see. The old 4x4's had 20 growth rings. The new 4x4 I just bought yesterday, had only 6!!! Therefore, there is 3/8" of soft wood between each ring, as opposed to 1/16" from the old boards!!! Bayou City Lumber has multiple levels of treatment from which to choose, including one that can be immersed in salt water. Also, they have Trex- type boards from four dlfferent mfgrs that you can order. Samples of all colors and types are on display for you to hold! These people know their business!"
"Great customer service and Kiwi its very helpful sales person.. if you are looking for affordable limber this is the place to look..."
"Great products, fair price and great service! They went above and beyond by helping me deal with an issue that arose on the job site by putting me in contact with another customer who was able to solve the problem. A company that will help you after the sale is rare these days. Great job!"
"I’d love to give a great response! However, I have been waiting for a quote since the 15th of January. It’s been. 11 days and no response even after follow up calls, text message. We have taken our business elsewhere."
"Placed a phone order for 3" rough cut, treated planks for hiking trail bridges. Arrived and it was all bundled and loaded quickly. Lumber was straight and good quality."
