"Man, I hate writing negative reviews, but these guys deserve it. I've been using Hilti products since the 1980's and have had tremendous pleasure with the performance of the products since then. A couple of years ago, I purchased a cordless drill from the service center on west road because my nephew raved about his. So, when I arrived, the only drill they claimed to have available was the floor demo. I needed the drill for a project and reluctantly purchased the drill with another battery. The drill was a wrist breaker and I enjoyed the power and speed. Shortly after the purchase though, I began to have issues with the trigger not engaging when depressed. When on a ladder and stretched out with a screw in the runner, this was to say the least, a bummer when the screw would fall to the ground because of no engagement. I went to the service center and they told me they would need the drill for a few days to repair it. I didn't have a backup, so I declined the repair. I dealt with this problem until recently the reverse switch failed and I can't live without this. Back to the service center. The representative informed me the warranty had expired and it would cost me $100 maximum limit to repair the drill. I gave my credit card. I received a receipt. A couple of days later, my bank emailed me informing me of a charge on my credit card of $172.13 from Hilti. You see what happened there? So I called corporate in an attempt to discover the reason for the charge. They informed me the service center would have to help me because there was nothing he could do, and the drill was ready to be picked up. I went to the service center and disputed the charge. The lady who was assisting me said that the extra charge ($72.13) was shipping charges. When I dropped off the drill, I was not informed of additional charges. I feel they should have disclosed this when I dropped off my tool so that I might have had a choice whether or not I could afford the repair. Had I known the repair was going to cost nearly $200, I most likely would have bought a new Dewalt at home depot for $199 and had 2 new batteries and a new drill. I feel abused and angry for the way I was treated. Jerome at the service center told me the district manager would contact me to discuss the issue, which never happened. If you believe this behavior is acceptable, by all means, continue to shop Hilti. As for me, they lost my business for good and I'm telling everyone I know about my experience."
