"I’ve been a loyal customer of my local take 5 oil since I purchased my outlander. However my last experience will be the last time I waste money on this business. A kid named JR was the cashier and I he couldn’t explain anything coherently. I felt that something was wrong with him or maybe he was new. I had another kid do my oil but I can’t even tell you for certain that he replace my oil or oil filter. He never grabbed a new oil filter and was working under the car without coming up till the end of this horrible transaction. Another mechanic grabbed and ripped out my engine air filter to have JR try to up charge me like always. After Jr tried to sell me this item and me saying no thank you. He “tried” to put my air filter back. But it was just him trying to jam my air filter back into place. After him trying the kid underneath my car tried to put the air filter back and told the other mechanic who “ripped it out” why did you do that, I don’t know how to put it back? After two kids tried to put my air filter back the third guy who originally took it out tried to put it back. Which means he jammed my air filer back into its socket not in its proper place and jammed my locks closed even though you could clearly see my air filter out. Finally after all this I was able to leave and was notified that again this company increased its oil change to a 131 dollars. When driving home my car was acting strange, and I knew it was because of my air filter. I stoped and looked under my hood and saw my air filter all jammed closed. After fixing this problem caused by take five I went home. Even now I would not be surprised that they never changed my oil filter and just add new oil, and charged 131 dollars for it. I will never go to take five ever again. If you value your car and can’t afford for it to break down because of idiot mechanics don’t come to take five."

"Hello! I visited store number 512 in Irving TX on today, I visited for the State Inspection as I didn’t last year this time. I have had my car for 16 years, doesn’t drive it much so it’s not to affected by the weather extremes. Once I pulled into the bay I was asked to pop my hood and for insurance info. I was immediately asked, PRIOR TO INSPECTION, have I purchased new wiper blades in the last six months if not I will not pass the inspection. I have never been told that before so I asked the tech what’s this about. He says it’s on a piece of paper inside the store. I immediately Google where it states the wipers have to be able to swipe 45 times per minute or it’s a failed inspection. This is where the scam starts. They then start to tell me about fluids, engine and cabin filters which were fine. I told them I have an appt for an oil change and also this thing about the wiper blades seems suspect. If new blades were placed on my vehicle o wouldn’t be aware because they look like the same as I had. I didn’t receive packaging from blades purchased. I went for an Inspection which I paid for; there’s no need to force customers into purchasing other items to help your bottom line. How many people is this don’t to per day!!! It’s sad business. I know another customer will replace me but I will NEVER return to Take 5 for anything and I will make sure no one I know goes. . I feel scammed and screwed. Thank for the bottle of water but I wouldn’t pay $62 for it!"

"Visit on 9-11-23: The Irving Shady Grove & Story location it was ok. Being going to this spot for years and all the different company names, owners, mgmnt and employees. This time around, it was not the friendliest but not the worst. Straight to the point, no real customer service. They were not busy when I pulled in for inspection either, as I was the only customer. I guess I bothered their relaxation. Two more customers pulled up as they were finishing mine. I'm not sure what service they needed. They sat in their cars waiting as 1 employee cleaned the bays and 1 did the inspection. Thus, I can only assume the others wanted inspections too. The waiting room used to be decent over the years for what it is, but now it's just pathetic. Here's 2 chairs, a fan in the middle and a small TV with a flat antenna hanging from the ceiling tiles and the cable to the TV hanging down from the antenna near the center of the room. Waiting inside noticed their American flag was all torn up. I guess they don't care. Don't fly one if you don't care about it. Almost a whole stripe was torn off, flapping separately from the rest of it. It was very shameful. If yall don't care, then take it down and not fly it at all, then have a torn one flying. This is as I was there on Monday, September 11, 2023, for the inspection, i guess they forgot. UPDATE 9-20-23: Sad it took someone calling it out, but I drove by and noticed they have a new flag now. Hopefully, it was disposed of properly as Irving as a process for that available. One is at the Admin of Irving Fire Dept."
