"*Edited: I was scheduled to move into my apartment Wednesday, December 1, 2021, but it was not ready. The entire approval process was quick and easy with Amber, and she was very pleasant. I asked her about viewing the apartment before move in day, because I did not want to sign a lease for a unit I had not seen, regardless of it being fully cleaned. She told me, “the apartments go so fast, the only time to view them is move in day, and we don’t want our residents to complain about things we intend to fix.” Fair enough. Upon move in day, Amber was out sick. I spoke with Angela, and viewed the apartment with my father. I understand that apartment layouts are different, but this was not the layout I picked. When viewing the apartment, she called to check in on me. Later on, another staffer, Charlie, walked in the unit unannounced to “check on me.” My father showed Charlie the areas of concern and he admitted that the unit had “bad work” and asked, “If they come in and fix it, will you move in?” I was very hesitant because of what I saw. Charlie mentioned another unit being available and suggested that I talk with Angela, as she would “make it right.” I spoke with Angela, and then corporate personnel, Chrissy, about concerns of mold in the window and bathroom, holes in the cabinet floors, stained carpet, pet smells, chipped paint, missing panels, and other concerns. They were apologetic, but responded with, “We are an older property, not luxury living. I’m not sure what your standard of living is, but we may not have anything that would satisfy you.” I understand the community isn’t luxury living, but basic upkeep comes standard with any apartment complex (fresh paint, new carpet, cleaned), and mold is a health concern that cannot be fixed in 1 day. Angela offered to clean the apartment “again,” as long as I emailed her a list of concerns because they “were just in the apartment Monday and did not notice any of the mentioned issues.” I’m not sure how this was the case as the apartment showed signs of it being half cleaned. I asked about cleaning it again, but Angela did not know when the cleaning company would be able to come back as they are booked in advanced. She said, “Unless Amber goes over to clean it herself, I’m not exactly sure how soon we can have someone come over to clean it for you.” I asked about the available unit that Charlie mentioned, but was told that, “Charlie tells others which units need to be cleaned and does other things for the community, and although he does great work for the community, he can’t tell you which units are available.” She also said that they don’t have any available units at this time. I asked Chrissy if I could cc her on the email Angela wanted me to write so that she would be aware of the concerns that I had. She said, “I’m not sure what that’s going to do since I’m not on the property,” and suggested I just let Angela handle it and that Angela would follow up with me. I got the impression that she wanted to put everything off on Angela, which didn’t seem fair, as I didn’t feel I needed to hold Angela accountable since it was my first time speaking with her and she was unaware about me moving in. Angela gave me all of my money back except for the lease protect fee. She stated that it was non refundable and that I “opted to cancel my move in.” I didn’t cancel, as shown in the pictures and videos that I took, the unit wasn’t ready and needed work. Needless to say, I did not move in as I felt that my needs (particularly about the mold) were considered trivial, at best. I really would have loved to live in the community, but this was not the best experience for me."
"Everything about this apartment was horrible after they switched managers two months into me living there. They are now doing mandatory trash service you have to pay for. There were also a lot of bugs in the apartment at all times no matter how clean or how many traps were put out. They barged in on me multiple times unclothed in my bathroom because of a "leak" in our tub. They then poorly caulked the leak and the caulk rust stained, and I was held responsible for that. I was also held responsible for mold remediation in the bathroom when they had barged in multiple times and had seen the amount. The mold was already there when we moved in. My AC was broken multiple times and my apartment rose to 90 several times, but the AC guy was on vacation so I had nothing for weeks. They also reconcreted our walkways, leading to us not being able to leave safely for multiple days without having to walk on a two by four over a 20 foot drop. Imagine if someone's dog or child had fallen in. Awful awful! Don't live here. I only gave it a two star because it was cheap for the first year, but they are trying to now charge luxury prices for a horrible complex."
"This has been a great place to live for the past 2 years. The location is obviously lovely, being on the lake and all. The leasing office is also very professional. Every month, they email a newsletter and calendar for all the residents. A physical copy even gets dropped off in the door of residents with an aversion to digital versions. Every time there is safety inspections, maintenance work or monthly exterminations, notice is sent through email and text at intervals so you do not get caught unaware. This is actually unique because my boyfriend's old apartment complex never gave him the same courtesy when shutting off water and the like. Sometimes there are events held in the leasing office like plant-your-own succulents, free Chick-fil-A biscuits in the morning and hot chocolate bar with gift-wrapping station around Christmas. Every maintenance request I have put in has been responded to quickly by staff. My only complaint is that ventilation is a little poor on bottommost floors like mine. Overall, management has been really good though and it's professionalism and the little things that make a good experience. For example, what prompted me to write this review today was an email from the property management company wishing me a happy birthday. It's a little dorky, but feeling like a person instead of just a life-support system for my bank account makes me feel nice. Consider it capitalism-related trauma. Anyway, it's been a pretty nice place to live for me."
"The apartments are old and the staff is friendly and helpful, but..... noise is a constant problem. Neighbors leave their large lab everyday without containing and he "plays with the cat" all day long and sounds like they are going to drop through the ceiling. Paint and Construction projects are ongoing and non stop; the landscape company parks right off of my lake front balcony and drives their noisy mowers back and forth all day long even after they have mowed my area. They load and unload their equipment noisily and don't come the same day of the week to avoid. The appliances are old and noisy. The worst is the Washer/Dryer closet. It is made so that you can barely get in and out and God help you if you have front load machines. These closets could easily be redesigned by widening the opening and putting rolling doors instead of a pull door. A lack of insulation in these older buildings is the biggest problem and you will never have any peace and quiet. The staff made a great effort to repair and address all of my issues at move in and did so expediently. The crew they have hired to make nice repairs is skimping on quality and tenants are given notice of repairs in less than adequate timing. For example, Friday morning to refrain from too much movement in the breezeway so that they can stain the floors starting on Monday. I have stayed home all day and they have not even started and I doubt they will. These projects have gone on since the day I moved in, non stop. The noise is enough for me to consider moving because it is non stop and the notifications to prep and accommodate are ill timed. Then let's consider the night time? The Restaurant Bar has live music playing so loud you can't avoid it but the sound is so muffed that you can't disseminate the actual words/music so you can't even enjoy it. Then there is the marina with what appear to be landing lights for an airport it is so well lit and the boats, well get ready because the fisherman blast out of there by 6 am and sometimes earlier; the afternoon pontoon boats are blasting loud enough to be heard in the next county. It's not one thing, but a lot of things and now I have to start considering a move. I've been here a whopping 70 days."
"Far from perfect but still the only apartment complex that you can get in this area that has lakefront apartments at a reasonable price. If you cant get a unit that is truly lake front you can get lake view. Naturally, there are units that face the parking lot. The management may not be perfect, some updating may need to be done, but I have known several people that enjoyed living here. If your older and dont care to be by the water, consider your options. Also recognize, that bugs, animals, reptiles are always more likely to be near water. If you enjoy ducks and lying in the sun, this might be just right for you."
