"I would give a ZERO rating if I could! On January 30, 2024, I made an appointment with Coast Dental for February 1, 2024. After making the appointment, I received several emails and text messages from them confirming my appointment. On January 31, 2024 I received a text message asking that I call them and provide my insurance information. I called the number, no one answered, and I was unable to leave a voice message because the mailbox was full. On February 1, while checking in for my appointment , the receptionist requested my dental coverage ID card so she could verify my dental insurance, which I promptly provided. I sat down and after 5 minutes, the receptionist got up and stated she's needed to go outside to make a call. After waiting 15 minutes, I went back to the desk and waited for another 5 minutes for someone to come up front, which ended up being a dental hygienist. I advised that I had a dental appointment and that someone was supposed to be checking my coverage ans the receptionist had walked out. I was immediately told that that the receptionist was actually the district manager and she left to go to another Coast Dental Office. The hygienist further stated that she didn't know how to verify dental coverage and they had no other staff there that could. She handed me my dental insurance ID card back and apologized. It is extremely troubling to me that the district manager basically just abandoned me without so much as a word which impeded my ability to get the service I came for after taking off from work. There are no available appointments so I would have to wait until March to be seen. This level of unprofessionalism is totally unacceptable! I have had other bad experiences with Coast Dental (e.g. constantly canceling appointments, not responding to inquiries, and not refunding for services that they were overpaid for just to name a few). Needless to say I will no longer be utilizing their services."

"I LOVE Dr. Ian Christian Carlson!!!! He was so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Very thorough! I'm 72 and haven't been to the dentist in many years because I'm fearful. I felt so comfortable with Dr. Carlson. I am sticking with him!!! He is my dentist forever!!! Kaylan is excellent!!! She is very professional, very informative, and very thoughtful and on top of things. Kaylan was quite aware of my concerns and did her best to make sure I was comfortable."

"If I could give zero stars I would. This dentist office is extremely unprofessional and cares nothing about the patients. I have been receiving an invalid bill every month since February. I have called their office multiple times and have left countless voicemails and have received zero call backs. This month I started to get collection notices and I called in again and finally reached someone in the office that without even looking at my account states that it is more than likely a glitch and that I should not worry about it. I pushed back due to the sheer number of notices and now collection attempts that I have been sent and was told that their district manager would be reaching out to me the next morning. No calls have been received and now when I try to call in again, I only reach the dreaded voicemail box that they must have lost the password to. Go to any dentist but this one unless you want to develop headaches."

"Dr. Ian Carlson refused to give a prescription for antibiotics after he suggested and also said he would all because I decided not to go through with an extraction because I wanted to weigh my options. He’s either only about the money or picks and chooses who he decides to give quality care too. Also don’t be fooled by the ladies working in the front they’re GREAT, it’s not until you get to the back where the quality of services drops drastically!"
