"We stayed in these apartments for a year (21-22). Next party signed lease in middle of next month (7 to 15 days after we left). Mr. Googas (landlord) kept begging us to stay one extra week as next party was not available. He called one week after we left that next tenants did not move in because of smell typical food we Asians cook. We hired professional service to clean kitchen and bathroom a day before leaving (and she did great job as per my experience in staying in 4 different apartment buildings. He stated that he has to do deep cleaning (I don't know what he cleaned deeply, never showed a receipt). He is interfering personality and visit our apartment multiple times before we left. He never mentioned any cleaning issues or damages (worthy to mention that he was bluffing at that time that he will be happy to write letters for next apartment applications, he wishes to get similar tenants, you Asians are adorable,..etc.) Mr. Googas (landlord) stopped answering to emails and calls after we left and never returned our security. The phone number on google never responds, and he is not replying to voice mails either. Current tenants can notice that he calls from unknown/ private number and emails from some fake account under his family name. He did not talk about security after we left and feels privileged to take-over anyone security he wants. Further looking into lease, some shocking things revealed. The owner's name is different and tells us he is owner or maybe he has two names. The address is PO-box number, so basically tenants can't find him after leaving apartment. It is advised to ask for his ID card copy at time of signing lease and request security return check before leaving. During our stay we found that our electricity bill averages 250$ for hardly 1000 Sq feet 2br2ba and low ceiling apartment (he claims apartment is 1170+ sq. ft when it is not). Even when air conditioning not used or we were away for vacation, the bill remained the same. The maintenance offered by Mr. Jim/ James /Jimi Googas (whatever is real name) was substandard. He tried to be plumber, electrician, painter when is not. Moreover, the place us not secure, anyone can enter building behind you. The trash can is 5 minutes' walk outside building which is another hassle to throw the trash in winters."

"The Eleftheria is a great family owned and operated apartment building. Jim (the owner) is a great guy that takes pride in the building and taking care of his residents. Unlike most buildings where everything is done by a property manager, Jim handles the lease, unit maintenance, etc. personally and makes everything hassle-free. Location is good as well, highly recommend for anyone in the Albany area."
