Hyatt Place Albany

"Decent room and ok breakfast (sausages were cold). The daytime front desk manager was really friendly, so was the engineer. All to be expected at a Hyatt place. My issue was with the night staff on duty. We had booked a king room, requested a suite upgrade prior to arrival and were told “we have your room all set up for you”. The room we got was a corner king instead, which would have been ok but the AC made a loud hissing noise when kicking in. We went downstairs to request another suite or double queen room and was told neither was available despite both being available on the Hyatt app for checking in that day. That was when things became unsettling. When I questioned the disparity between online and onsite room availability, the staff member said things like “I can’t be kicking people out of their rooms”, “what do you want me to do? You want points?!”, “you want your refund?!”. I explained that any customer who booked a double queen room right then and tried to check in right away would be upset and have a difficult conversation with the hotel, to which the staff member quickly retorted with “such as the one we are having right now”. Wow! All this instead of apologizing for not updating the hotel’s inventory timely and assigning us a room with issues. Was really excited to have a new Hyatt option in the Albany area but won’t be returning."

"I had a very good trip and the hotel itself was very nice. The staff in the hotel were welcoming and friendly. Its parking lot isn’t fully finished so we had to pay for parking which sucked a little. I gave the service only 4/5 stars. When my boyfriend and I called to make reservations and get more information about their dog policy (it’s dog friendly and any breeds are welcome) they never once mentioned a $100 pet fee. Since we booked on the phone and asked about the dogs, we didn’t look at the website and they surprise charged us at check in. They said “it was on the website”. It was just annoying since we had asked them about the dog policy on the phone. I know many pet friendly places charge extra but it would’ve been nice to know and not just be charged after driving 4 hrs to get there"

"I stayed here for 1 weeks around Christmas in 2023, when the hotel was relatively new. For the price, this place can't be beat in Albany. Everything is clean and new, the rooms are well laid-out, with plenty of space to relax and glass showers. It had one of the best continental breakfasts I've ever had. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I'll definitely be coming back here when I need a place to stay in the area."

"I recently arrived in Albany for a conference and found myself checking in very late, with the surrounding restaurants closed. Opting for the hotel bar, I stumbled upon an amazing experience. Sammy, the multi-talented bartender/cook, went out of his way to accommodate our vegetarian diet, offering thoughtful recommendations from the menu. His friendly demeanor and excellent service made the entire experience enjoyable. I believe this establishment will thrive with such exceptional service. Highly recommended!"

"We stayed one night at Hyatt. It is a brand new hotel in Albany. The staff is efficient, polite and when we needed something they were there to solve the issues. The room is very functional and the bed was very comfortable ( the sofa bed not so much so if you are in a family of 4 you will need to use the sofa bed and it is OK but not that comfortable like the bed). The complimentary hot breakfast is solid, with lots os variety and honestly better than a lot of fancy hotels I stayed. Overall a nice stay will be booking again next time in Albany."
