"As a then-future resident of the apartments who accompanied the tour, I can say with certainty that our representative did, in fact, mislead us about the gas services. We were told, specifically, that the upper-level apartments did NOT need to turn the gas on BECAUSE we did not have a fireplace. Thus, in reliance of that statement, we only turned on the electric through National Grid. Then, during the winter, we were told that if we did not pay the gas bill within the next day, our electric would be shut off. (if you cannot "stop or turn off" utilities, then you may want to advise your staff of that instruction, just as a best practice tip). Furthermore, the utility addendum merely states that we must connect our names to National Grid, in which we did, as you can see below, the utilities were in my roommate's name AND were paid since July 2018 the month we moved in and continued to be paid until August 2019 the month we moved out. (the excel screenshot attached is downloaded directly from National Grid). Additionally, even though we had a dog pursuant to the lease agreement, a resident (who was indeed old, not that that is a bad thing, but it does contribute to the number of complaints you will receive as a tenant) in the apartment next to us would constantly call and complain about us taking the dog behind the buildings. Then we were contacted multiple times by management, pursuant to the neighbor's complaint, that we were not to take our dog within in his line of vision, aka: behind the apartments. As if that were not enough, we were then contacted, as were all residents, I'm assuming, that we were not allowed to allow our pets pee on the front lawns. Essentially, we were prohibited from taking our dog out to use the bathroom, even though the community claims to be dog friendly. While you may find reviews "unfounded and unfair," there is nothing in our reviews that we do not have records or screenshots of."
"When we toured the representative told us we would not need to turn on our gas because our unit did not have a fireplace. So, later, when we moved in I just turned on the electricity not the gas. Eight months later we get a huge charge on our rent. I call the office and leave a message but I got no reply. I call again a week or so later and they get extremely rude and tell me that my gas is required to be on and that’s why my bill is so high then they threaten to turn off my heat in the middle of winter if they don’t get the money within one DAY. (Very illegal) The units are ok but not great. Also the neighbors are mostly older and will call management over VERY little things. Some were nice but it only takes one to really get annoying. I moved out last year. Found a much better place to live. People deserve to know what they’re getting themselves into before they pay so much for terrible management. Edit: my roommate posted photos to back up my claims in another google review."
