"All the drug dealers have an apt there ... The apts are horrible broken floors that they never want to fix etc. Every so often they make believe that they do maintence so they can get money from the city they change one or 2 things in the apt with the cheapest equipent possible. The management is so unprofesional and uneducated they loose documents be carefull always make copies. The city should step up and inspect those apts they are health hazzard.I hope they do...Up date oct 31st 2023 .In my building and 4 others have no heat for the whole month of oct.Supposely the boiler is getting fixed for the whole month. When you call them for information on the heat all they tell you is our team is working on it...Its 47 out side today and my apt is iced cold. The worst manegement ever ...All they do is collect from the city and the city allows these conditions ....."
"Don't let the outside of the building fool you. Yes It's a place to live, just keep your rent paid on time. Hope you can make your own repairs. The maintenance person when called for an emergency situation or any other problem always says "I'm not supposed to be here you know". So in other words he don't want to do anything. Management sucks, and are rude. We've had like 5 different landlords in 3 years. They are scammers they might try to change your rent without notice. The front desk Concierge will throw you under the bus. So don't tell her anything about the others in the office. The building is supposed to be for veterans not crack heads. Which I believe is living here now. Shady look people live here now. Renters Beware!!"
"Edit: I am curious to know if the unnecessary leaf blowing early in the morning will stop? I literally see the guy blowing the leaf machine at the trees. It is driving me nuts. Please limit the amount of days this needs to be done, or at least a time in the later afternoon. It is so unnecessary and disruptive. They have a small gym center (just cardio) which is great to have. The new management does seems better. It’s not the greatest location since it's by the Con Ed power plant, but it is near Astoria park which is great. It’s not as bad as the comments here. It’s safe and quiet for the most part. However, walls are thin so hopefully you get quiet neighbors and a top floor, depending who lives above you. They really should require top floors to have rugs, that would certainly help."
"Terrible communication between office and tenants, as of 2022 constant mandatory inspections requiring the tenants to call out of work with only a few days notice. Feels more like a prison or shelter than a rental."
"I grew up here, it's always been a quiet neighborhood compared to NYC standards, but like anywhere else in the city, the cost of living is a complete rip off. That's no knock on the neighborhood, since the Bloomberg years, these landlords gained free reign to charge whatever they want for a wood floor and window guards. But if you're looking for something a little more peaceful and separated from the hustle and bustle of the city, this would be it. The train is about 8 blocks away, but the Q100 bus stops right on the corner of 21st & 21st so as long as you have a metro card, it's very convenient to travel to and from. Check out Ralph DeMarco park (Purple Park), Astoria Park, and Astoria pool, all in walking distance."
