"Great people working in this hotel and wish them all the best. Rooms and hotel facilities were excellent. Now, the locations was a big no for me as a young female solo traveller. Unfortunately we live in a world of social discrimination. When this is translated into our day-to-day world, crime happens, and the risk for a woman of being assaulted if alone is also high. I don't blame those marginalised communities, but our society in general and those who represent us in politics and businesses. So alas, I don't think this hotel is currently suitable for young female solo travellers who go out during the night to explore the city or meet up with friends. You need to walk 20 minutes through a very rough and industrial area to get to an N line and the nearest station doesn't seem to be always operating well. I hope in a few years time this area has been supported more accordingly and more and better security measures are in place so people like me can come back and relax and enjoy the holidays. All the best to the staff members!"
"Shady area. Hotel staff was sparse and any request made to the staff was either overlooked or required multiple (3+) follow-ups such as toothbrush or bedsheets. Area around it is a little shady as well. The rooms were fine but service and breakfast were definitely subpar during my stay"
"Hotel room and lobby was very nice but beware loose furniture. A night stand wasnt secured and tipped over randomly with very little weight. Spilled juice all over some designer clothes we had in the drawers. Tried to let management know but didn't get acknowledged until checkout when I reminded them what happened. The location is very close to a bridge that leads into Manhattan so that was convenient. The area(hood) around the hotel is pretty sketch but manageable, especially for $300+ a night hotel. We didn't have any issues walking to the bus stop or station. Even got a very good haircut from barber down the street. When tired we would lyft to and from the train station for about $10. Then we'd train into manhattan close to our destination. Apart from nightstand issue and lack of follow-up our stay was enjoyable. Would consider staying here again for the right price."
"We needed a room due to cancellation by the online booking service. This Residence Inn served the purpose of having a room available. The location is not the nicest, across the street from a huge power plant and other storage, industrial or abandoned buildings. Valet parking was very good. The room was clean but not serviced. I will also reinforce that breakfast, while provided, is pretty substandard for what we are used to at other Residence Inns. I still wonder "why did they ever put a hotel in this location?""
"I loved the room. Super spacious, clean and well equiped. I had loads of kitchenware and appliances (which I didn't use but may come in handy if you wanna avoid eating out), the layout of kitchen - living room - bedroom - bathroom was great to make you feel in a mini apartment. Also there are tons of options by the reception for grab and go foods - makes the hotel a very handy spot to be. It's right across the east river from Manhattan, would definitely rather stay here than in Midtown and abouts. Service was just regular, and they definitely should stop serving free breakfast if they want to reduce the chaos in the lobby."
