SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York Queens

"Although the surrounding neighborhood seemed unsafe and sketchy, the hotel building was quite nice, clean, and pleasant. The free continental breakfast was good. We were able to Ubere everywhere we needed to go. The service was amazing. The staff were busy working, but where there for me if I needed anything. Steve the manager was very friendly and the most helpful. He switched my room to one side of the hotel to the other side because the power plant noise on one side of the hotel was too noisy for me. Although the power plant noise was similar to a white noise, I couldn't sleep through it. Steve was able to switch my room in a timely manner. I would stay there again with the right room. I also really liked that it was walking distance to Roosevelt Island. That was a neat place."

"Superb hotel in terms of the room, cute, cozy and clean. The location was good for me...Staff is pleasant and I visibly see them working very hard but they lack supplies. The 4 days I stayed, no wash-rags. Housekeeping staff doesn't know English. The complimentary breakfast are for people who want to push and shove in long lines(not for me) it is very unorganized in a small space. Construction is being done directly across the street and at 730am the crew arrives and you are forced to wake up because of the noise. I loved the room but would never go back"

"My stay at this hotel was amazing. The hotel and rooms were very clean and modern. I especially loved how spacious our room was! The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient and not too far from everything. I felt very safe in this location/area, however the only downside about the location is how busy and loud everything is outside of your room but I still slept like a baby!"

"It's a great place with exceptional staff, offering very comfortable and clean rooms. This hotel will pleasantly surprise you with outstanding service and comfort. After staying in a 4-star hotel in Miami, this one definitely takes the lead. I don't understand people who book 2-star hotels at the lowest price in NYC surroundings, receiving 4-5 star accommodation, and then complain about minor issues in reviews. The industrial neighborhood around could be noisy during the day. I've also come across some reviews mentioning a rough neighborhood, but we didn't encounter any issues, even when walking back to the hotel at night a couple of times."

"I read some of the reviews about poor service at the hotel and unsafe neighborhood surrounding it. Neither were an issue. The staff was as good (meaning great) as any Marriott I’ve stayed at recently and we are a high-tier level. Staff was accommodating and kind and I believe if you are polite and kind, they will do what they can to help. The neighborhood is gentrifying but I found the people surrounding the hotel safe and just trying to live-in short, you need to be aware of your surroundings here but you do in any major city worldwide. Otherwise enjoy being able to stay so close to Manhattan at a great price!"
