"Just finished signing my 3rd lease renewal (might even be my 4th, I’ve lost count). I love living here, the location is perfect for me, any maintenance request I put in has either been handled the day I submitted it or the following. Only time I had to wait longer was because I submitted it on a Friday after hours. The reviews online are pretty awful, I personally haven’t had any issues with the office. I think Cami and Kaylon are amazing, they reply to my emails almost immediately and are always respectful. If you see bad reviews more than likely they weren’t being nice or following the lease guidelines. The pool is pretty deep and I believe might be salt water (could be wrong just doesn’t smell like chlorine to me), the bug guys are here on the first Tuesday of every month like clock work and the dog park is perfect if your dog needs to release some energy. You won’t be able to find an apt that is reasonably priced that has this much sq ft anywhere else. If you treat the office with respect and follow your lease agreement then you shouldn’t have any issues. Highly recommend!"
"Worst experience renting I’ve ever had. Maintenance repairs were horrible. Pipe busted underneath the concrete floors. Had to listen to the water running for two months before they fixed it. During that time they cut holes in the dining room wall and the upstairs bathroom (they never repaired them) . When they fixed it they had to jackhammer a hole in the floor then pour new concrete that splattered all over the floor and wall. (They did not clean up after themselves). When the carpet was put back down on top of the chunks of concrete, not very pleasant to step on. Oh, and in the townhouses there is a drain in the utility closet that will back up and flood your apartment. When I called the first time they were like, yeah that happens sometimes(That is definitely not in the lease). It will ruin the carpet and your furniture and nothing will be done about it. The rules didn’t apply to everyone. Your neighbors can run puppy mills in their apartment, your neighbors can let their dogs out without a leash and owner in sight to use the bathroom among many other things but if you break a rule you get an angry call from the office. By the way, watch the pest control guy. He will spray your pets food bowls. After I seen that, I stopped letting him into my apartment. Save your time, sanity and money and rent somewhere else."
"If I could give zero stars, I would. We lived there for one year, and had nothing but problem after problem after problem. The dishwasher was broken the day we moved in and flooded the kitchen, the air conditioning broke all the time. The office staff is the worst, completely unprofessional, rude, just hateful people. If you have the option to live somewhere else please do. I read reviews and thought oh it can’t be that bad, and I was so so wrong. Please for your sanity don’t live here."
"I called for maintenance to come out around 09:00 pm on a Friday due to my kitchen flooding. Maintenance was out within 30 minutes and had the problem taken care of that night. Maintenance even made sure they had a company come out Saturday morning to make sure the issue was completely fixed. I've dealt with a pipe leak in my ceiling in a different apartment complex, it took couple of days before they came out. That apartment complex left me with a hole in the ceiling overnight and never cleaned up the mess. West Gate's maintenance made sure the water was cleaned up and even made sure my carpet was dried. They left me a commercial fan and a humidifier over the weekend. I am appreciative for the quick response from the staff. I watch the on-site leasing agent rush to an apartment that had smoke coming from it after office hours. I have never seen staff from apartment complexes respond to those calls. My last apartment had staff members that lived on site and never responded to fire alarms. It would take Maintenance several hours to respond and two lived on-site."
