"This is a very resonably priced place to stay. It's off the main street and was quiet. The creek was beautiful, and the grounds were well kept. The fireplace is wood burning, so if you plan on using it, bring firewood and be knowledgeable on how to control the damper. The bathroom could use some deep cleaning, the sheets didn't fit the king-size bed, you may also want to bring your own pillows."
"The Brookside Lodge is by far the nicest hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying the night at. And the price I paid staying there off season was only about $40, which was an absolute steal. The hotel room was absolutely beautifully furnished. It had a gorgeous stone sink, beautifully made wooden furniture with leather, granite end table, a fireplace, and a patio looking over the tranquil creek running behind the lodge. This hotel should've been over $200 instead of $40. This will be my go to hotel whenever I visit Gatlinburg."
"We stayed for 4 days in a deluxe room. Room was spacious. Its a nice, peaceful place to stay close to downtown. Our room had microwave, minu fridge. Breakfast was offered and included eggs, sausage, spicy potato, pancakes, biscuit, gravy, fruits, cereals, juice and coffee. Its buffet style but served by a server. Menu remained the same.Employees were friendly and working diligently to keep the place clean. My only concern is the property is not non smoking. Had I known I surely would have avoided my stay there. Could not even open the patio door for a minute or enjoy the patio seating or outside seating, room gets easily filled with cigarette smoke in no time. Sometimes the room would smell of smoke terribly cos people outside were smoking. It gets very difficult and uncomfortable for people with severe allergies and asthma."
"Honest review on this place: From the moment we walked in, it just felt off. The con’s genuinely out-way the pros. It smells and feels very musty, almost like old cigar smoke. This place is dirty. Like definitely dirty. There was hair on the carpet, and so much dust everywhere around the A.C. , that just hasn’t been cleaned. Our sheets and the mattress were stained. The sheets had a yellow stain on them (For the 6 days we were here they never changed them.) And our mattress was stained with a pink/light red spot. The bed is SO uncomfortable. You will have lower back pain by the end of your vacation. The shower was lukewarm at best you could say. The tub was so small you absolutely couldn’t lay down in it. I tried to take a bath, but the water was so cold after a few minutes, it was almost unbearable. The shower left freestanding water in the tub while you were showering so there was always water up to your ankles whenever we showered. We called in about it, and they said they sent over someone to get it fixed, but the problem was never fixed. Our room didn’t have curtains?? For some reason. When we looked at the other windows of the other rooms they all had curtains, but ours didn’t. This made it so at night when the cars drove down the road the light was in our eyes. Just annoying. THE NOISES. Holy cow! It was so hard to sleep at night, there were so many different noises. The walls are paper thin, you can literally hear the next room over’s conversation. From car horns beeping to loud bangs, it was so loud. PROS: Had a nice view on the balcony. That’s all."
"Edit: the manager definitely did say that we should expect the room to be musty because it is near a creek. They will not refund the first night even though we were unable to stay there. TLDR: the GM says guests should expect their rooms to be musty and will not refund the first day of reservation. I had a horrible experience and the GM refused to refund our entire reservation. The room was extremely musty and dirty. We went to Ruby falls the day before and it was less musty. The room had sticky candy on the dresser and was very dirty. The only lock is the lock used with the plastic room key but the deadbolt didn’t work and there was no chain or top lock. As soon as we got to our room we called the front desk and let them know of the issues. They showed us a different room that was very musty and had a strong paint smell and also had only the room key lock. It was cleaner but still not clean. We checked in on a Sunday night and were told there were no managers available and to call Monday morning. We did not stay in the room more than 2 minutes. We called Monday and were told to call Tuesday. On Tuesday I spoke to the GM who stated we should expect the rooms to be musty since they are near the river (the next hotel we went to was on the river and NOT musty) and that the second room was recently painted so it couldn’t be musty. Painting over mold doesn’t make the mold go away. I was covered in hives from being in there. She stated she will not refund the first day since they had it reserved and could not rent it. I let her know the room was uninhabitable and shouldn’t have been reserved and they had many vacant rooms available and were not close to sold out. She agreed they were not close to being sold out but stated that because they were able to show us a second (disgusting) room she wouldn’t refund the first day."
