"DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD"!! I stayed at this hotel in September because I got off work late and had to be back the next morning, room clean, staff was nice. 2 days ago, I was checking my bank statement and noticed I was being charged for a room I did not reserve, I called the hotel, spoke to Klez, the manager, and he reimbursed me the $150.82, and tonight, as I am checking my bank statement again, I noticed they took the money back, I am being charged again, I stayed there a month ago, they have no right to be using my card, THAT IS STEALING, I am going to report them EVERYWHERE I can, AND ASKING MY BANK TO BLOCK THEM"
"We had friends visiting, and they stayed at the Fairfield Inn. We did go in and check it out - nice clean rooms and a welcoming feel to the lobby. Everything we saw was nice and clean, friendly desk staff, and plenty of parking. The Fairfield Inn is conveniently located - easy access to I-95 and area routes, just a few minutes drive from a variety of restaurants and downtown Portsmouth with shops and local dining."
"Excellent location for seacoast travel and downtown Portsmouth access. Rooms were very clean and fresh, well designed for comfortable stay, (we had a king bed room with couch), and had a nice view from our 4th floor front window. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the room service to the management. They are a good team. Free breakfast was good also, as was the staff, cheerful and happy to help. I am confined to a wheelchair and found easy access to most of the building and room (did not have an accessible room, just a normal room), with the exception of the front entrance which is a bit difficult. It is slanted but has a large expansion joint near the top, and my wife was not able to push my transfer chair over it. The desk manager, on seeing this, was right there offering to help. Overall, for a mid-priced hotel, I will give it 5 stars. Don't hesitate to check it out."
"Stayed for two nights. Had requested a quiet room on an upper level, instead I received a room across from the elevator (next to the ice maker) on the second floor. Extremely unfriendly staff. We were never greeted and rarely did staff make eye contact. The included breakfast was also only fair. Very disappointing stay when compared to previous Marriott hotel stays."
"Hotel itself is nice, clean, and staff are nice. The issue is walkability to downtown Portsmouth. This is not an “in town” location. However it could be easily fixed. The hotel does not have sidewalks along the southern lot line. However, recent development across route 1a to the East had built a nice multi use path that takes your right to downtown. The issue is the 100 yard gap of side walk along the hotel frontage. Apparently the hotel used to have a shuttle driver that recently retired. My suggestion is to use that salary savings to invest in a sidewalk along the southern frontage. This would allow a safer pedestrian route to downtown and improve visibility for pedestrian use that may alleviate some of these concerns that I overheard, and also share, during my stay."
