"I wanted to purchase $800 shoes from this store and the employee who worked there was rude and condescending. I asked him to take a picture of the shoe because I am not local and wanted to see them before I purchase online and he said he “doesn’t have time to take a picture for me.” Sorry, if you don’t have time to snap a simple picture, I don’t have time to give you my business. Shoe mart, you should train your employees better!"

"This “business” should not be trying their hand at online commerce. I’ll save the long story and say buy somewhere, anywhere, else!!!! Read below if you’re interested. Took forever to get a return label (at least 4 phone calls) and when returned I had to call at least 10 times to ask why I hadn’t received my store credit. The worthless individual with the thick foreign accent, answering the phones, can do nothing to help. Now I have to email a manager. I am told there is no way to speak to someone, who speaks clear English, over the phone. All I wanted to do was exchange them for a different size via store credit. You would swear to God that I was asking them to put a rocket on the moon. Now I’m waiting on an email back from the “manager” (probably the same useless guy I’ve spoken to this week). I now want my money back and I will buy from a professional business. Stay far away from this utterly incompetent and mind-bogglingly mismanaged business!!!"

"These guys are great. First, you can buy second quality Aldens here at a discount. The defects in the shoes are very hard, if not impossible, to find, and the defects are generally something insignificant such as an insole that is very slightly misaligned or a stamp that’s uneven. Second, I found a defect in a pair of first quality Aldens I bought two years ago. After two years, it was my first time wearing them because I had started working from home, and it was only then I saw a tear in the leather. The store offered to repair the shoe free of charge."

And then, a few years later, brought them in for polishing and new soles, which I'm happy to report was done very well, and quickly, and at a good price point. Excellent customer service. "I recommend The Shoe Mart for all of your shoe needs. Joe and Ed are reputable and friendly owners who are almost always available at their Norwalk location. I purchased multiple boots from this store and asked my questions on caring for my new Alden Indy’s. The 403s pictured are seconds and had darkened after some time left outside of the box. I called Joe and he called me back within 20 minutes and made it clear if the boots were fixable he’d fix them or if they weren’t worn, I could receive a full refund. No questions asked. I took a trip to the store and the photo is a testimony to their work. I was assisted by Ed who worked and (to my eyes) repaired these seconds that I’ll enjoy for years to come. Thank you Shoe Mart. I’ll be sure to stop at your store in the future and complete my Indy collection."
