"I was a little worried when seeing reviews of other hotels near the beach but Casa Mariquita was CLEAN, comfortable, and had good hospitality. Janet was super helpful!"
"I liked the location the most because it was about a 5-10 minute walk from the main street so far enough not to be in the middle of all the activities but close enough to not need a golf cart. The room is kind of small but as expected when you are near the beach. We stayed for 2 nights so our room wasn't serviced. I am accustomed for room service to at least make your bed and bring fresh towels on a daily basis but you probably have to request it at this hotel. The continental breakfast consists of granola bars, cookies and coffee. They had a pancake machine but it wasn't working. I would have liked some fruit at least."
"I usually don't leave reviews even if I have bad experiences. I am writing this because it feels like I got scammed this time. I booked a superior room with a king bed at this hotel even though there were cheaper rooms at other hotels. Because it said ocean view and there was a picture of a private balcony in the detail of the room. There was NO private balcony and it was not ocean view at all. The room faces the ocean but there is a corridor in between. If you have a blind open, people keep looking in the room walking by. Even only 10% of the window faces the ocean and the rest faces a wall. You only see the wall sitting on the bed. You cannot describe it as ocean view because you see the ocean when opening the door. I spent extra $200 for nothing."
"Very clean and updated rooms. Close to town, vons, and mini-golf. Kinda small but you dont go to Catalina to sit in a hotel room. Front desk ladies were very nice and professional. Checking in and out was simple and easy. Only thing I would like to mention is there is no elevator. Didnt mind but being on the 4th floor will give you a great leg exercise. Would definitely stay here again."
"Place exceeded expectations for price. The rooms were nice enough, clean, and the staff was very helpful. They also scrap together some basic free breakfast, which was a nice surprise."
