Catalina Canyon Inn

"Really the only pet friendly option in the Avalon - for this we were very grateful, we had 2 small dogs and they were very accommodating. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly - two things to mention: the staff do not mention the shuttle that runs every 30 minutes - we walked up and down into town about 5 times before we realized there is a shuttle, and if it’s full - tough luck.. secondly: there is no options for dining on location during “non peak seasons” therefore if you have a pet, you will have to bring them along with you into town and you’ll have to sit on a patio that allows animals. Location and Dining availability in and nearby were our only issues really. Other than that - great stay at the Catalina canyon inn!"

"Loved it place was clean. Went for my 6 year anniversary. Free shuttle service that drive you down to the pier with a call. And picks you up complimentary from the hotel. Hotel is a mile away from pier but on big hill so it is hard to go on foot"

"To start off no one told us there would be a shuttle when booking. We walk all the way up and down every time we needed a ride either he was on lunch or didn’t answer the phone. Then I went down stairs to purchase two waters. There was no one at the counter for 25 minutes and I left a note. There excuse short staffed. Then we had ants in all our clothes and bags. Went to the front desk they wanted to downgrade our rooms. I said no when a king size bed opens up call me they agreed. I never received a call. I’m really upset with the supervisor she was even talking about her other employees talking bad about her in front of while we waited for our rooms on entry. Overall will not be staying here again. I come from a very huge corporation and I will be sharing my experience with my company of which who paid for my getaway."

"We were excited to stay at this hotel with our family for a getaway. Never been to Catalina. First of all, we arrived early and they don't have bell hops and told us we can store our luggage in a closet that anyone has access to and that we shouldn't leave anything valuable in our bags. When we were called to say our room was ready, we went back and checked in. They were cool and put all three of my families rooms next to each other, BUT my room had a dead mouse in it and mouse dropping in the bed. We explained that to them, and they felt horrible and upgraded us to a suite. When we entered the suite, there were mouse dropping on the floors all throughout and even in the kitchen drawers. They felt even worse, but the place was sold out. So they moved us to a sister property down the hill and not near my family. The new room was tiny and only had full sized beds and the bathroom and especially shower, were the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel. Also, the TV volume never worked at the new hotel. Aside from that, it was clean and right in town. They did take care of us as best they can based on the circumstances, but I will likely never stay here again. Also, the shuttle to this hotel is nice to have, BUT it takes a while to wait for it."
