"Stayed here only for one night on a business trip since it wasn't far from the Santa Monica downtown office. As a Marriott titanium, they upgraded me to the corner room on the top floor furthest away from the renovations and I heard nothing while I was in the room. The room was recently refurbished and everything was very new inside. Plenty of space as well. The only downside is the pool was under renovation so they use the Viceroy Santa Monica hotel pool in the mean time and that pool is inadequate for actual swimming, the size is mostly like a bigger hot tub. Used the bike rental as part of the resort fee which was quite enjoyable to ride up and down the Santa Monica boardwalk."

"Room was pretty dated and not very comfortable and the hotel didn’t have much for amenities. The location was incredible though, only a block from the ocean."

"Awful! Place is a mess due to construction, No amenity whatsoever, not even a vending machine. Loud construction noise everywhere. This place should not be open during renovation. My room was updated but next to elevator which was loud. I changed room. AC was not working, room temperature was 76 degrees, super stuffy and window does not happen. No water in room, no iron, sticky floor, no slippers...I can't believe I was charged $459 (before tax) per night for this mess."

"My stay at Le Merigot left much to be desired due to the disruptive renovations taking place throughout my entire visit. Despite an email from the front desk manager, Stuart Cash, days before my arrival assuring there would not be disruptive noises before 8 am, banging and construction woke me up well before their stated start time. My message to the hotel about my concerns was met with indifference. What disappointed me the most was the lack of transparency from the hotel regarding these renovations. Nowhere during the booking process was I informed of the ongoing construction, leaving me completely unprepared for the disturbance to my stay. By the time I received an email informing me of the construction, it was too late to book elsewhere. The noise not only made it impossible to relax in my room but also interfered with any attempts at work or leisure activities. Additionally, the common areas of the hotel were cluttered with equipment and debris, further detracting from the overall experience. While I understand that renovations are necessary for improvement, the least the hotel could have done was notify guests upon booking so that we could make an informed decision about our stay. Unfortunately, this oversight significantly impacted my enjoyment of what could have been a pleasant visit. Overall, I cannot recommend Le Merigot until they address this lack of communication and ensure that future guests are informed at the time of booking of any disruptions to their stay. Nevertheless, I have no doubt that they’ll still hit me with a daily ‘amenity’ or ‘resort’ fee upon checkout."

"I am SO disappointed in this stay. Where do I begin . . . We showed up to this cheap looking hotel that is pretending to be designer luxury. We booked a king bed, and then were put in a bedroom with (2) queen beds. We asked to be moved to the room we selected and were placed in a room that smelled SO strong with varnish + fresh paint it gave me a headache immediately. They were sold out so we had to settle for the room with 2 beds as well as a neighbor building view vs. the city view we reserved. We were also promised a complimentary breakfast and then nothing was provided. This place is a JOKE for the price. I will be disputing the charges with Travelocity, the hotel + my credit card. DO NOT visit this hotel unless you are in the mood to be extremely frustrated."
