Austin View Apartments

"Where do I begin. Lived here 3 years. The septic system alarms about 40 plus times a year and tenant turns it off until weeks later when someone finally shows up. Laundry has been 3 inches of sewage about 10 times in 3 years. If you live on ground level sewage backs up into your apartment. Ive seen the roach infested apartment emptied to the dumpster and swear to God sat there for months because the bill wasn't paid in between management companies so then the whole complex got infested. People smoke in apartments which make the whole building smell all the time, BUT ITS A SMOKE FREE BUILDING, roaches for 1.5 years, storage area flooded 3 times with standing water, water heater burst in laundry room, no on site management working on property they are in grand rapids, replaced my own entry door to apartment. Dog crap always everywhere. Garbage everywhere all the time. The storage area is loaded with literally garbage in every single unit. Mailbox is always being destroyed. Pot holes will ruin your vehicle. Kids are never supervised so you get dents in your vehicle from the handles of bikes. Cats pee all over my pots, plans or anything on my deck area. They pee all over the siding and on my actual door to apartment. There are no rules that are ever followed at this place. Not allowed grills but people still have them and some people burn garbage inside the grills for days straight and nothing is ever said or done about it. The laundry room is disgusting because everyone is so lazy and dirty they just don't care to pitch in and clean every once in awhile. I stopped taking the garbage out and it took over 2.months for someone else to take it out when we all share the laundry room. Tenants have to call the laundry company when it's broken and no one ever does. So all 3 buildings of people will use the 1 washer and dryer that hasn't broke yet until I call them. Mice in laundry room amd storage. Garbage etc in laundry room sink at all times even cat crap and baby diapers. Some guy that doesn't even live here has been storing his belongings in the storage area. Several apartments with major mold problems and nothing being done. I truly wouldn't recommend living here unless you have no where else to go and I'm being very very honest when I say this. It really stinks to hate when you come home at the end of the day and that is exactly how I feel. Or even better to come home to a moldy smelly apartment that no one cares even about. I'm so glad I can finally leave this place. Truly."

"Worst complex I have ever lived in- not necessarily the management since it was bought out a month after I moved in in August 2023- but the neighbors are the worst. I live on the middle walk in floor, and my neighbor above me stomps around at all hours of the day and night and my neighbor below me thinks he’s on American idol and sings (badly I might add) at the top of his lungs. The pot holes are horrendous and people leave trash everywhere outside. Neighbors let their kids play in the huge pot holes and inside the dumpster. I don’t even take my kids outside to play here because of all the trash and I don’t feel safe. Not to mention the roaches that have invaded my apartment that I have had several visits to exterminate but all they do is run between units. Save your money, don’t come here."

"STAY FAR FAR AWAY! Management is terrible. I’ve had burnt counter tops from a fire and ceilings for over 2 years and still haven’t replaced, had a water fall leaking in my bathroom from people upstairs, they left a big whole for 2 years in my ceiling. They will tell you they will fix stuff and never do, I was told a million times I’m at the top of the list and thanks for being understanding. Just for them to come fix nothing. No smoke detector, no door closes. Fridge is broke. The place is infested with cockroaches inside and out, instead of hiring people they just said we hope the fire that happened takes care of them. Stay far far away"

"I applied at this Austin View Apartment Complex back in August/September 2022 and I spoke with one of the property mangers Heather Lane. She did appear sweet and on top of things. She told me that the 1 bedroom apartment had to be worked on by management but should only take a couple of weeks at most to get up to date with the move in conditions. Well, unfortunately that turned into a month to longer and eventually nothing. I kept trying to call Heather each week and she kept telling me the contractors had to put in new floors but that shouldn't be too much longer. On top of that, I asked if she could follow up with me once a week and she said that would be fine. Unfortunately, I had to do all the contacting and same ole answers the contractors still need to come in and so forth. As a result, I had to stay at motels for 2 weeks and eventually did away with them and ended up applying at Waverly Place Apartments giving me better rates and that leasing agent Nancy worked hard and endlessly to made sure I got this apartment by end of September. Sorry to say I don't have a lot of nice things to stay about Austin View that really let me down; mainly to lack of communication like I was bothering them every time I called and that they didn't appear to really want my business. Anyone who applies in future, I hope they take better care of you all unlike me."

"Recently, while working with people in the community, I stumbled upon this wonderful apartment complex, Austin View Apartments. I had the sheer pleasure of meeting the new manager, Heather Lane. She was simply amazing, and I cannot rave enough about her and the complex. Heather gave me a tour, and their apartments are so charming. The features they have are exceptional and spectacular. They come with air conditioner, on-site washer and dryer, generatror if the power goes out (this is a must have, and THEY DO!), big open yard, with picnic tables and grills for the perfect summer day, a gated dog enclosure for your furry loved one, and parking. It's a wonderful piece of the country, while not to far from the city. It's a must look into!"
