Greenspire Apartments

"I liked my apartment unit for the most part. However, we had critters in the walls (mice, chipmunks?), all that was done was that pest control put out bait traps with poison inside the apartment which obviously didnt solve our problem. We constantly had issues getting the sinks and tub to drain properly. The washer and dryer were in poor condition, and we only had one small washer and two dryers for 6 units to share. The cost on each load was already 1.75 and the prices just went up, so it's a small fortune to do laundry. We had issues with our mail being mis-delivered constantly and they refused to communicate with the USPS and UPS rep for their business (all businesses should have some kind of a POC, I know mine does), they just told us it wasn't in their control. There have also been a lot of break-ins to people's cars and even cars stolen. They also got an entirely new staff a few months ago which seems odd, and people are in and out like a revolving door. It seems like there is a lot of disorganization and misinformation. I'm at the end of my lease, moving somewhere closer to where I work. I came down really, really sick while moving. I'm headed to urgent care for what i suspect might be covid. I asked for a few extra days to move since I'm so sick and offered to pay for those days, but was told there are "no exceptions " and if I'm not out on time, I'll be charged a full month's rent. This is how I'm treated after paying rent every month on time, always being courteous, following rules, and taking good care of my apartment. I recommend living elsewhere, I am overall very disappointed with my experience of living here, especially after being told they can't make an exception for me to take a couple extra days to make sure I leave the apartment clean and ready for a new tenant. If you're moving out, make absolutely sure you get an acknowledgment in writing. Read your lease with a fine tooth comb and take before and after photos of everything to cover your butt. Know your rights as a tenant and advocate for yourself, or better yet, find somewhere consistent, professional, and organized."

"I have lived here for almost 4 years (2nd floor 1 bedroom) and felt now is a good time to review based on my experience. Most of my interaction has been with maintenance and they have been wonderful. Management has changed around a few times so I can't say much about the current staff. My largest issue is the rent has gone up quite a bit over these years and certain things once included in rent have been taken away. Rent has gone up by a total for $450/mo for me since I moved here and here is what we have to show for it - 1. New concrete walkways throughout the complex 2. New dedicated area for dog park 3. New fiber internet access (probably has nothing to do with Greenspire but nice modern addition) 4. Upgraded boats for resident rental 5. Removed free cable tv for residents (DTV antennas don't have best reception here) 6. Removed wooden dock section at lake access 7. Removed large areas of trees and nature to add 3 new large buildings. 8. Now requires renters insurance (not a bad thing but added cost) 9. Does not allow use of Marijuana. (I'm not a user but understand there are others with medical needs and this place restricts that need). It is in the lease so you can be evicted. 10. Smoke free. (Again, no issue for me but a consideration for smokers) 11. Residents report car break ins all the time. Remember to lock your doors!"

"A family member lived there for well over a decade. Always paid his rent on time, never had a complaint against him. Then he randomly gets an eviction notice. When he asks why he's getting evicted, they refused to tell him why. They just keep saying that it's their right to do so. We all know the reason is because they know they can charge someone new much more for the apartment. This place is all that is wrong with the world in a nutshell. This is not how you want to be treated by your landlords. Find another place to live. He ended up finding a bigger, cheaper, and nicer apartment instead, so this was a blessing in disguise"

"We lived there 5 years, mostly decent apartment, filled with empty promises of remodeling the kitchen or updating the washer dryer to be put in each unit (until then it's 2 machines for 6 apartments, $1.75 to wash and $1.50 dryer) we had several major issues due to water damage and mold. We bought a carpet shampoo machine and the water was BLACK when we first moved in, during one summer our AC was leaking and mold grew in our storage closet, they had to rebuild the entire storage closet (nothing like a plastic tarp keeping possible thieves out) so for about a month in the summertime it was almost 90° in the apartment. In the fall and winter you can hear the chipmunks and mice running around in the walls and ceilings... management wont do anything about it... When we moved out we had noticed that the mold was back through the vents and my daughter had some respiratory issues, hopefully they'll tear down the old buildings because the safety standards are outdated."
