"Just waiting for the day when I can leave this place. The maintenance is horrible at best. Only because of the newborn and the extra hassle at this point are we not moving. FYI: No matter how good you are with your payments (even I pay my rent before the first day of each month), don't expect any good maintenance from them. Even, you may not have heating in winter for few days, they will not bother to come asap if it's in between weekend. Only a few good things I would say here: The director, Evan, is a reasonable person, and everything is close by from this place (which is one of the reasons we don't want to move until we have a permanent solution)."

"I had friends who lived here whom I visited frequently and they moved out of town for another job opportunity and their health as they are a vet and the other environment was better suited for their recovery from their service. They moved out after months of not getting repairs they requested done by maintenance and then when they got their itemized bill at the end of their move out all the issues they had were what they charged them for. They wrote a response I personally mailed for them as instructed and the apartment complex never got back to them per what the letter said. Instead they sent them to collections. Very nasty work and a nasty way to treat someone who served our country too. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the treatment alone."

"Moved here in 2021 in the apartment side. For two years, had little to no issues. Things started getting bad in early 2023. I have submitted 5 noise complaints about our upstairs neighbors (I live on the 2nd floor) The property manager replies "the noise complaint has been addressed" but then it continues not even a day later. My roommate has also submitted several complaints about our next door neighbors (on our same floor) constantly smoking weed and cigarettes inside their unit as he can smell it from his room and bathroom. Despite the property banning smoking and saying that you can be evicted because of it, they don't seem to have any interest in enforcing the policy. My "portion" of the rent has also skyrocketed from $475 in 2021 to $700 starting January 2024. For all of these reasons, I'm not renewing my lease and will not come back to this complex. The current property manager needs to be fired and replaced with someone who has the ability to quickly respond to and resolve serious issues AND actually enforce their policies. If the property is going to continue to raise rent every year, then they need to drastically improve and fast. I get that there's always going to be a little noise and some occasional shady behavior when living in an apartment, but this has gotten ridiculous. UPDATE: My roommate also also decided to move out for the above mentioned reasons. As for the comment left from management, if you actually cared about the concerns we both submitted, THEN WHY WAS NOTHING DONE THE FIRST TIME."

"I lived here for a year. I would highly recommend The View to family or friends looking for an apartment. The leasing process was super easy, especially with the help of front office staff. I had a one bedroom and I was impressed at the size of the apartment. Large bedroom, large bathroom and larger than anticipated living room + dining room.There were multiple storage closets (including two there were like little rooms). The locked entry/button system added extra security. While apartments in Kalamazoo/Portage are becoming more expensive, the View was as reasonably priced as it could be given the circumstances and I felt like I was getting what I was paying for. For a one bedroom I paid $924 + $100 or less for electricity + gas, + $50 for water/sewer/housing insurance for the first year. Staff was super friendly and responsive to needs. Pools, Fitness Center, Clubhouse were also great. Small perk grabbing free soft drinks from the Clubhouse fridge. Going to miss those morning Cokes. If I were living in the Kalamazoo area again I would move back to the View and I appreciate being home there for the past year."

"I've been living at The View for six years now and I'm very happy here. The property is clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly quiet while being in a convenient location near the center of Portage. The staff has always been friendly and eager to help whenever I need it. Any maintenance orders I put in get addressed quickly and I always know the service will be done right. I've lived at a few other apartment and I can honestly say I feel at home here. I highly recommend The View to anyone looking for a nice place to live."
