"currently trying to move out. Lived here since June. Elevators always broken staff hardly ever there when online says they should be during business hours. Takes forever to get maintenance to do anything. Halls smell like garbage always. Current parking garage situation is ridiculous and unsafe for residents especially when arriving home late hours and having to walk in downtown Cleveland alone. not a good enough deal to live here. Do not sign this lease people!!!!"
"Wouldn’t recommend moving here. I moved out 9 months ago and still have yet to receive my security deposit back, after emailing them for months and getting a different excuse every time. Very rude staff members, the elevators are ALWAYS broken, and there’s been multiple different managers in my 2 year stay there."
"Lived in a one bedroom from November 2019 to June 2023. This is my very fair review of the place—If you want a clean, quiet place to live with good security and little expectations for amenities and support, The Statler is pretty good. PROS: - Great package receiving. I’ve never lost any packages and was never worried about it. If you lose packages, it’s probably because the delivery people don’t drop off properly—not the building staff. - Rooftop and Community Room was always clean and nice space to use. - Unit was nice with hardwood floors and things worked like they should for the most part. Maintenance response was pretty quick (1-3 days) whenever I had small in-unit issues. - Security, Maintenance, and Leasing Staff do their best. I could tell that Sid, Mike, David, and Linda are always trying their best to keep residents happy. I felt really bad for them some days and I really think that management/corporate is the main issue with this place. CONS: - Nothing except the TV in the Community Room worked. Broken beer and coffee machine, broken pool sticks and missing balls the whole time I was there. - Property Manager switched three times that I lived there. Get copies of ALL documents and have things in writing. I would have been stuck paying an additional 5 months of rent if I trusted them and didn’t have my own records. - It has been 4 months since I’ve moved out and still haven’t received my security deposit back. Current Property Manager, Kari, has been communicative (which I appreciate), but has not been able to resolve this for me yet."
"I have been living here for 5 months now and it has been a great place to live. I toured the apartment with Linda and she has been amazing since touring to moving in and living here currently. She is always smiling and having great energy. The apartment is great and the security staff is amazing as well, Syd, Mike, and Dave have become family."
"Not worth the price of rent. My husband and I lived here for just under a year, and when we moved in, we were so excited about living in The Statler. Our individual apartment was great, absolutely no complaints about the unit itself. The problem we had was with the leasing office/management. The reason we decided to move out (and break our lease early), was because staff gave us notice that our rent would increase ~$500 if we wanted to renew another year. It is understandable that rent would increase slightly from year to year, but to increase nearly 25% is ridiculous, especially when the freight elevator was broken for most of the time we lived there, so one of the 3 other elevators was almost always reserved for people moving in/out, and at any given time, another elevator was broken. This would often leave 1 working elevator for 14 floors of people. I would also understand the rent increase if the leasing office had shared any intentions to upgrade the amenities within the building. But to my knowledge, residents would still be stuck with a sorry excuse for a fitness center (2 treadmills, a few random weight machines, and a couple space heaters that were plugged in and turned on 24/7--fire hazard-- due to a broken window that was never fixed), a small rooftop space, and a semi-decent lounge room. Another "bonus" of The Statler, is their lack of security. I can't count the amount of times that I walked down to the lobby on the weekends and saw different homeless people sleeping on the lobby couches, with no one there to tell them leave, or to stop them from entering the building in the first place. I did appreciate the daytime and weeknight security and the maintenance staff, as they seemed to be the only competent people working there, but overall, my experience at The Statler was disappointing. You're better off going to The Beacon, The Lumen, or The Athlon, where you can get much better management, security, parking, amenities, views, balconies, outdoor spaces, and units, for almost the same price."
