"I have lived in many apartment buildings downtown and this was by far the worst experience we had, mostly due to the actions of the leasing and management office. They all respond quickly and positively before you move in but once you get your keys their services are gone and they don’t respond to emails or do anything when you bring problems to their attention. Our walls were so thin we could hear our neighbors sneeze ( we gave leasing recordings of all the time of how thin the walls were) and they kept gaslighting us for 9 months saying they would do something about it and never did. Also make sure to see your exact parking spot before moving in, because they are all very terrible, we had to back around multiple polls to get into ours, and they are expensive on top of that."

"My daughter is AA and Puerto Rican and has an amazing credit score and work history in addition to working for me (Realtor). She applied and her application was accepted. she happily informed her current home. She is moving from Bridgeview because it is more expensive but she loves living in the area. My daughter now has to move in with me for the holidays because she paid her deposit and had a move in date... only to be discriminated against once she started packing and preparing to move. They informed her that she is now denied because of her partner. I believe it is because they have a child and because of other more apparent things like her skin color. she was supposed to move in in less than 5 days when she informed she could not. WOW. They now have no choice but to move in with me because their other apartment is being rented to someone else. Shame on the Grant. Be cautious if you are not single or if you have children or is you look a certain way. Please look at other reviews that mention never seeing children or families. We will file a formal housing discrimination complaint. She was told that her boyfriend had to be on the lease even though he lives in his own apartment which I know is not true. They then used him as the reason to discriminate against her when he would never be a tenant."

"This is the dirtiest apartment ever and I’ve only been here a month. I had to rush and move and this was really my only option outside of moving far. They paint dust and hair to the walls instead of actually cleaning it up prior to painting for a move in. I had to deep clean my entire apartment which took almost 2 weeks in order to unpack because nothing was cleaned but the shampooed carpet which wasn’t vacuumed prior too. The apartment is a nice size and floor plan but for there to be other completely remodeled/and or brand new buildings going for the same price, the least they could do is control all the dust and dirt. I’m anticipating my move out date."

"For starters many of the 5 star reviews listed came from persuasion by management in an attempt to boost the star rating for the building. They offered tenants a chance to win a gift card in the amount of $100 in exchange for 5 star reviews. Throughout my ongoing lease (6 months, with 8 months left) at The Grant many of promised “amenities” are either out of order, under construction, or non existent. These “amenities” being, a community beer tap, and a community patio area with fire pits and grills. Parking per month is an astounding $190. Or you’re faced to deal with finding parking amongst the busy street of Euclid Avenue. There is no buzzer system. In the event you have company, you must share one elevator between 7 floors in order to let your company in. In addition, there is no mail room to receive any packages you may have ordered. Consequently, once the packages are delivered they are left scattered in the lobby, unattended and visible to on-lookers, pedestrians, and non residents. As I’ve said earlier there is ONE elevator shared between 7 floors. Hallways are stained and dirty at times. Management is unorganized and extremely unprofessional. Many of the outlets throughout my unit do not work. The walls between units are extremely thin, preventing any type of auditory privacy. Before new maintenance was administered, my unit was entered WITHOUT permission while I was not home, by the previous maintenance worker. Although there are an everlasting list of negatives, The Grant actually honors one amenity they listed. This being, a convenient dog park located on the second floor. Just make sure to bring your own “doggy bags” because more than often the station for provided “doggy bags” are empty."
