"Just moved in 2 weeks ago. When we came for a viewing. Maya offered a remodel apartment. And also promised the day of moving in our apartment would be ready. She showed a remodel one..why would anyone now days would take a classic old damaged and broken apartment.she try to state that we wanted an old classic one. Then we would a request a tour of a classic one right? Non of this happened the apartment was a classic and dirty apartment and not remodel at all, and they were installing a new venir floor and removing the carpet. So we came in for the key at 10:00 am but moved in at 8:00 pm on a holiday weekend with the office closed for any possible maintenance requests. A/C thermostat broken so no A/C for 3 days. No light in front of the main unit door and the complex is so dark at night that moving experience was horrible. There is no emergency contact on property. Maintenance is on call but the responds is as long as the house is not flooding we are not coming. So don’t expect maintenance to come for A/C or any other emergency. Still till today the con artist of Maya keeps in the office with no apologies. When I requested maintenance to come in to fix my first emergency list Alexis told me “I have to let you know that this apartment is old so don’t expect much can be done if If you don’t like it you have 30 days to leave” Like that is an easy option. Who want to move and who can pay another complex and still wait for 30 days to get the refund back. Also again pay for movers. Our flooring is wiggling all over. They fix the living room and bathroom up on request not that they were gonna do it but kitchen and bedroom are still in the same position. Nasty faucets, broken bathroom cabinet, old appliances kitchen light fixtures dirty with old residues. Apartment not cleaned before moving in. Blind dirty. Light fixture has oil debris from previous tenants. A lot of cosmetic problems and keep it going. Now maintenance answer there is not much tools or equipment to work with. So promise of changing or fixing can’t be made. So for me and Family this was a bad moving-in experience. Please record all your conversations with the front office staff especially Maya. She will lie to you in your face and say otherwise with a smile. The property has a dog park. But there is no control over tenants with dog. They let their dogs poop everywhere. You have to walk with caution so don’t step in a dudu. No amenities on the sight, office is being remodeled so there is no fitness center no pool no nothing. I wish we would have known all this before moving… this complex is a “no”for me .. do your self a favor do your research first and if you can don’t rent here."

"I have lived at Heron Lakes for 3 years now and I have had more negative experiences than positive ones. The only thing I love about living here is the great rapport I have built with the maintenance manager Chris and the office rep Maia who delivers all the bad news with a smile on her face. Since living at Heron Lakes, my car has been both broken into and vandalized. While they have spent money on fixing the property, they have failed to place cameras on the property. They have implemented new rules, like having a parking pass for all your guests. This may be convenient if we were able to hold onto our passes and provide it to our guests. Instead, we are only able to have guests on the property without a pass between 9am and 6 pm (office hours) which is usually when most of us are at work. So you may pay 1800 in rent but you can’t have guests over at your own free will. All visits must be pre-planned or your guests’ car WILL get towed. I’ve also had issues with my appliances and plumbing since moving in. Although Chris is prompt and replies to my maintenance requests with urgency, it saddens me that he is only able to provide refurbished appliances as opposed to new ones, which in turn leaves me with the same issues time and time again. I’ve had to put in maintenance requests at the very least, ONCE a month. My apartment has had all types of bugs and insects and the extermination does not help AT ALL. It doesn’t help that while Greystar was painting the buildings they ripped our patio screen and have yet to fix it, so yay me.. MORE BUGS when I leave the patio door open. In the beginning of 2023, my mother was diagnosed with cancer and I requested an extension on my rent payment as I was assisting with her medical bills. I was told that they would give me an extension this ONE time and emphasized that they would not be able to make future accommodations and threatened me with an eviction due to their “strict policies” (despite always being on time with my rent). Needless to say, I will not be extending my lease. While I understand policies and procedures are put in place to keep things in order, I refuse to continue living in a place where the rent increases substantially EVERY lease term and the residents are not top priority."

"The parking is ridiculous you’re required to have a parking decal for what when they give out visitor parking passes like it’s free money and the people stay parked for days in the complex! You literally have to fight for parking with people that don’t live here and yet they don’t enforce it only time parking is enforced is when they have to do work on the rodes after that they get lazy. For the amount of money spent here is not worth it you get the barely enjoy the amenities, the noise level outside is ridiculous you hear cars and people being loud at all hours."

"10/30/23 Update My car was stolen from in front of my apt, community has no cameras in parking lot. Furthermore when the cops wanted to see the footage the Female Property manager requested a warrant. No help at all. Very disappointed. Never received a follow up. Things always look good in the beginning..."

"I love living here! I’ve been here for 4 years and I’m loving the new owners Greystar and management team. Seeing the property being taken care of is a wonderful thing. All of the new improvements from actually having furniture out at the pool and being able to enjoy it by residents that actually lives here is wonderful. I was able to transfer from my old unit to an updated one with all of the modern finishes which has been wonderful. The complex has been painted, new lights installed to keep it safe at night. It’s definitely quiet complex to live in especially since all of our amenities are resident only now. Oh even the grass is actually grass and green now! I’ve never seen sprinklers on here until now. The management team is wonderful always on top of it."
