Margaritaville Resort Orlando

"The hotel is really nice. The decorations are themed and the detail is awesome. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Only 4 stars, first reason- I called a week ahead of our arrival to add one more night to our stay. The person was super rude actually told me to cancel the reservation and book som else. I called back the next day and the lady was really nice. That was a half star deduction. The other half star is the gratuity is included at the bars. I was not told this after I received bill. We sat at the bar had a few appetizers and about 8 drinks. The bill was 140 which I tipped 30 on top of. The next day the bartender (a different lady) told me it was already included when she gave us the bill. Other than that I would definitely stay there again. It's really nice. Pool drinks not cheap so just be ready to spend some money"

"So I’m currently staying in the hotel for a conference for work; let me start off by saying I am highly disappointed in the quality of my room with the well known name “Margaritaville.” Either I had too high of expectations, or the resort is falling short. Here is what I am displeased about: my bathroom. I guess it was my fault for not looking at the pictures in close detail, but the showers do not have doors or shower curtains; there is one pane of glass covering half the opening of the shower…with that being said, I am a person of size (no excuse because my other occupant is a normal size human) the water from the rainfall shower head comes down, runs off your body, and straight out of the shower and onto the floor everywhere. You get a cold draft like you’re showering in a locker room; so if you like cold showers or showers where you can’t stay warm, this shower is for you. If you like cleaning and mopping up water, guess what, this room and shower is right for you. They provide a shower wand; forget trying to use it because if you miss your body, water is being shot out of the shower and on the flooding the floor. I coworker had another room, and they had a shower door; I asked engineering if this was normal, and it’s! Can this place not afford to buy an extra piece of glass for a door on their showers!? There was black mold in my shower, indicating the room staff doesn’t clean it, hairs on the wall and floor boards (funny for the amount of water that comes out of the shower). My room sleeps 4, and only had 2 towels in the room; no wash cloths or hand towels. We never found a housekeeper that spoke English (most staff speak Spanish and had to use a Spanish translator app) we finally got towels and wash cloths. Entire bathroom experience is horrible when looking for luxury. When booking, it says you will have complementary plus robes in your room; we didn’t have any. The night stand lamp didn’t work, had to call engineering. Engineering left a note on our door that they needed to enter our room, they never did and had to call them for their task. The ceiling fan has one speed (oddly enough the speed changed one morning from slow to fast while I was in the shower) and had to call engineering to change the speed; apparently the rooms don’t have remotes, but the room my coworker had (that had a shower door) had a speed control panel. So I guess the more you pay for your room, you actually get some basic stuff…so being in my conference, the sessions would end around 4:30-5. We checked in on Sunday, and the Salty Rim bar and grill by the pool was open until 6; we didn’t make it, but they said that they close at 6 every day. Monday we had some rain coming in, bar closed early; understandable. On Tuesday, outstanding weather, tons of people by the pool, I wanted to enjoy a beverage by the pool when my sessions were over, but the bar closed early at 4:30. The bar tender said they usually close early; so why tell me they close at 6pm on Sunday, but close early the next days I was here. Never had a chance to enjoy a beverage by the pool because you’re not allowed to bring outside food and drink into the pool area. The stuff I liked: the staff running the conference were really friendly. They were prompt with food and beverage service, and clean up. Never had an issue with the staff. Long story short; not sure if I would stay here again. I know we will likely have our conference here again; but I may not stay here. I was just disappointed."

"I have one word for this experience, HORRIBLE!!! If you stay in the cottages expect customer no service to deal with your requests or handle any issues during your stay. Was up all night with the party crew next door (we paid extra for a pool, not so nice if you have noisy party people jumping in the pool until 4am). So requested a later checkout, one hour later, only to be told, “Too Bad!!!” Unbelievable, I’m exhausted, my family is exhausted, and I’m never going to make this mistake again!!!! Too much money for NO SERVICE, and no help with the original issue. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM DURING YOUR STAY!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE!! Edit: This is an edit to my first review above. The manager called me back at 8:35am. She was nice, but still was not hearing the issue and did not want to offer an apology. She gave us the noon checkout, did not apologize that we were up all night due to noise, then said if you are not out by noon, you will incur an extra charge??? Really???? I was up all night because the outside walls are paper thin, and the neighbors were having a pool party until 4am. Am I missing something here? I called during the night, she said they have no record?? I called the rental desk and it rang until it automatically hung up, six times!!! I called the hotel front desk, they said they don’t handle the cottages, does that make me a liar???????? I am exhausted!!!! I hate to see such a beautiful place go under because of poor service, but the place was clearly dead!! A lot of private owners have money invested here, and they are driving away business?? I think it is sad that nobody cares. Lastly, I’m sure the response to this review will somehow make it my fault. After reading others people’s reviews, no one takes any responsibility."

"I was in town for business and my entire staff stayed here (in the town homes and cottages). I cannot say enough great things about this property. Accommodations are top notch, the main hotel and pool are amazing along with the restaurants. It is also conveniently located near shopping and an abundance of eateries. I would recommend staying here to anyone. From families, to couples and everyone else. You will not be disappointed."

"We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa. Overall it was nice. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings were appropriate. The bathrooms leave a lot to be desired - no towel racks, only a two prong hook on the back of the door. In the shower, there is only a small soap dish. No where to hang your wash cloth and no where to put your shampoo. On a positive note, they do have a free shuttle within the property which is very convenient."
