"Lived here for two years and was glad to get out. It’s not that the building is bad—although I got the impression they cheaped out on the construction in some areas. It’s how they nickel and dime you over time. Parking is egregiously expensive, utilities costs will randomly increase every six or so months, and the rent increases upon lease renewal are unreasonable. They tried to hike my rent up almost $250 a month going into my third year, which was ridiculous considering the average person in the Capital Region can’t afford $1750 for a one-bedroom…oh, but if you lock yourself in for a longer lease than normal, they’ll bring the price hike down *a little.* However, the thing that really grinds my gears the most about this building was how I was treated at move out. They took $160 from my security deposit just to replace the sealing ring in the washing machine, something that was never flagged as a potential problem in the first inspection they did a month before move out (which yes, that’s an actual thing they do here for some reason). I had good reason to refute this and attempted to. They were stern and rude to me in response, insistent I didn’t take care of my unit in my two years there, despite how I very much did and how I cleaned the whole place from top to bottom before my final inspection. I was appalled. The situation convinced me I was right to move out at the end of my lease. I wouldn’t recommend Vicina to anyone, not like anyone I know can afford it here anyway. If you do decide to live here, keep in mind the building is on, like, the least convenient corner in Troy, and you *will* need to arrange with Public Works in City Hall to get permission for your movers to even park on the street. And yes, people WILL try to steal the NO PARKING signs they put up for you."

"I recently moved out after two years of living here, and I only did so kicking and screaming due to job relocation. Living at Vicina was great; from the amenities to the fantastic location I had very little to complain about. The apartments are quite clean and I never once had any sort of pest problems. If I have a criticism to give, it'd be about the balconies. The slats between the boards leave gaps that let water and such drip from above, and this can be a dilemma if your upstairs neighbor has a pet that isn't well trained. But this is only minor and doesn't affect a lot of units, so not worth docking any points over. Overall I felt welcome and at home at Vicina - the service staff are helpful and quick to respond to emergency, and the cozy quiet atmosphere was just what I like. If higher-end price points don't bother you then look no further for your next home. I'll be moving back in when I can."

"Very convenient location in Troy. Walking distance to Russell and RPI. Have a one-bedroom apartment with a nice little outdoor area. The bathroom is quite large, as is the main living area. Having a washer and dryer included is great. Wonderful restaurants close by (as close as in the building for one restaurant) that give you a variety of dining out choices. The secured parking lot is great and just steps away from the building. Haven't been able to enjoy the rooftop yet but once the weather gets warmer it should be a nice, relaxing place to be. Working with Julia to view the property and secure the lease was easy. She was very thorough and made sure all of our questions were answered quickly. Overall, very happy with Vicina - Modern Urban Flats so far."

"The staff at the Vicina are top notch! They put on fun events and help out whenever they can. Julia and Mikaela are great and Mark is always willing to help with a maintenance request. I was sad to leave. I especially love the rooftop, the fireplace is great and you get an amazing view."
