"We visit Troy often and found this hidden gem. We won't stay any other place again. Tina is one of the sweetest ladies we have ever met. Location is walking distance to downtown. The rooms and place are gorgeous and you can't miss the breakfast best around. Thanks Tina see you soon."

"We arrived a little early (11 AM) to drop some bags prior to check in at 4 PM. The host became very upset when we walked in and immediately began screaming and shouting at us about how overwhelmed and overworked she was, and how much of a problem it was that we had showed up early (which she had been made aware of prior to our arrival). She was extremely agitated and hostile, which made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout the remainder of our stay. It is unacceptable to shout at perfect strangers in this way and we felt very upset by this. She went on to discuss politics (inappropriate) and make excuses for her unacceptable behavior. The actual building and facilities are fine. However, I would recommend avoiding a stay here as the host is very volatile and creates an incredibly stressful and unpleasant environment—not what you hope for on a weekend away. Tina, if you do read this, you immediately put us off and I sure hope you don’t make a habit of screaming at your guests. If you are so unhappy at work that you feel the need to shout at total strangers and customers, please reconsider hospitality as a career."

"My son and I stayed here last year but I neglected to write a review at the time. The architecture is lovely and the antiques were just wonderful. Like a step back in time! At the time we were here, the other upstairs rooms weren't occupied so we had the bathroom to ourselves. Tina very welcoming and let us store some food in her fridge. The cooking was very good and we had a large selection to choose from. We shared enjoyable meals with other guests who were visiting from abroad. The home is not in the greatest part of town but it felt plenty safe to us and there was off-street parking available. This might not be the best choice if you have mobility issues as you might have to take stairs but I managed. I would definitely come back again. Thank you, Tina!"

"I really LOVE this place. If you want to feel like a tourist then go to the corporate lodging. If you want to feel like family from the moment you enter the front door stay here. You will leave with a full breakfast and stories to tell all your friends. Be sure to take many pictures of this incredible structure."
