“Such a gorgeous place not far from the city centre. The staff are absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had booked for my birthday and when we went up to the room we were surprised with balloons, a birthday banner and a card. Touches like this make an occasion that bit more special. Such a great last minute find and would definitely recommend and stay again”

“We have just returned from a 1 night stay at The Grand and would 100% recommend it. It is a beautiful place in a fab location! The staff were all lovely. It was very clean. “Fantastic location a few yards from York Minster. Easy access to all the bars,restaurants and shops. Great view of the Minster from our room and again at breakfast. Very large rooms with an excellent bathroom. Tea and Coffee is provided in the rooms and for once was very good unlike other places we have stayed in.Staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast is well worth having so make sure to have this option when booking. It is an old style hotel so don't expect high tech or a gym. Just use it as an excellent place for a break.”

“The staff were so kind and welcoming and accommodating. The service at the desk and at the restaurant was impeccable and put smiles on our faces. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the location was quite and lovely and convenient.”

“I visited for the day to complete a course. The staff are all fantastic, I was able to call ahead and book a parking space. The food was so varied and plenty of it and the surroundings were luxurious. I will be back to have afternoon tea in the beautiful garden which includes a kitchen garden for produce used in the kitchen”

“Second visit to this hotel with my daughter, everything was perfect, the room was spacious and lovely and warm, the breakfast delicious. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful, the only problem was we couldn’t stay longer. We will definitely be back and would recommend to everyone.”

“I booked through Groupon we have just recently got married and this was paid for from a friend as a wedding present. The afternoon tea and prosecco was lovely and Joseph's the manger upgraded us to the bootham suite when checked in which was a lovely touch .we loved the room very spacious and clean. The breakfast was great we will definitely be back fantastic stay thanks Amanda and phil jolly x”

“I loved it here. Such great value for money. It is decorated beautifully and I adored my room. The staff were really helpful and friendly, I needed help closing the windows and they came straight up to help me. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfy, I slept really well. I also loved the tea and coffee corner especially the coffee machine. My only advice would be that despite having instructions on how to use it it doesn't tell you to fill the side up with water so I spent about 15 mins trying to figure that out. Worth it though, as the hot chocolate was delicious. The bathroom was also gorgeous, the massive shower was to die for. I would recommend putting a shower cap in as I wanted to go under the massive rain like showerhead but didn't want to get my hair wet so I felt I lost a little of the experience. Just v small quibbles and they didn't affect my stay, I still had a wonderful time”

“A great hostel with a homely feel. The staff were very nice and the facilities were about what you'd expect from a hostel. The main downside would be the location, since it takes about 10 minutes to get to the city centre, yet at the same time, it is nice to be in a quiet part of town.”

“Staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and had everything we needed. Hotel itself is situated a 10 minutes walk into centre plenty of parking. Breakfast was an easy grab and go which is convenient if your in a hurry and price was good for area.”

“Had an amazing evening meal and drinks here. The place was so clean and relaxing. The food was excellent and the staff were amazing. A special mention for Jay who made us feel very welcome and he was exceptionally professional and helpful. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough”

“We popped in for a evening meal. There is plenty of seating to choose from. The staff were polite and friendly. Food was great with a good menu. Definitely worth a visit if you like a pub with a great atmosphere. There is a beer garden too.”

“We had our wedding at Middletons Hotel in August 2022. It was the most magical day. We arranged our wedding with 4 months to go until the date. With a lot to organise, the communication and help was faultless. Becky made everything feel easy to organise and with quick response times. We were made to feel really special in the run up to the wedding (including the complimentary menu tasting) and on the day itself. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We love this hotel, beautiful rooms, architecture, an amazing backdrop for a wedding with a lovely garden for the drinks reception. On top of this, the service is 5 star quality. The staff are so nice and helpful and will bend over backwards for their guests. Location for York is central but peaceful. We will definitely return for our future anniversaries. Thank you Middletons for the best day and 3 night stay!”

“Beautiful room, nice breakfast, friendly staff and brilliant location. Everything is approx 5 minutes away on foot. We stayed on the top floor which is not the best as there's no lift to carry your things or for people that actually need the lift. It was a pleasant stay and would definitely book again.”

Both Leanne and Karen have been extremely helpful from the very beginning of our move - they replied to all our emails very quickly, answered any questions we had thoroughly, and did their best to make sure our move was successful and hassle-free. “We are just back from a 4 night break at the tractor shed, it was a faultless , relaxing stay. All the amenities you could require ,and added bonus of a welcome box of goodies. Around £10 in a taxi into York so very handy for all the usual sights. We used the outdoor space and bbq loads. We hope to visit again soon and would definitely recommend to others.”

“Stunning building with lovely clean rooms. Massive variety of food for breakfast. Every member of staff had a smile and a glow about them which was lovely to see. Can't fail this place at all. Even a bus stop outside direct into York city centre. If I could give you a tip it would be to book ahead for a table at the fat abbott. It gets very busy.we will definitely be back. Good work parsonage crew!”

“I stayed at this hotel for a conference but I’d be happy to stay there for any reason. The room was perfect, the communal areas were even better. The food was sublime and the catering for the conference was as good as restaurant food. The best thing about this hotel was the staff, they were friendly and attentive. 100% recommend. The car park is a little expensive so plan in advance and don’t get caught out.”

“A 5 day Christmas getaway to York by train made this Premier Inn an easy choice. A short walk from the train station with the facility to leave my luggage, ensuring I could make the most of my arrival and departure days. You know what you're getting with Premier Inn and South Blossom Street was no different. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable double bed, clean room with TV, free WiFi (upgradeable if required), Desk and Chair, sofa bed, kettle, mugs, glasses, as much tea, coffee,  sugar  and milk as you require, en-suite with bath and shower over. Towels, soap, and shower gel provided. Rooms cleaned, and  towels changed at your request. Plenty of power sockets are available for all your electrical gadgets. I also noticed an HDMI port to connect to the TV. Keycard system in use allowing guest only access 24/7. There was a Table Table Restaurant at this Premier Inn, which I did not use.”

“One of the best sleeps I've ever had! Both me and my partner had to ask what type of mattress they use as we are certainly buying one!! Location was brilliant, close enough to walk comfortably but far enough away from the chaos (we went at Christmas time). Definitely would stay again”

“There are some very mixed reviews for this hotel but we had no issues at all. The room was easily the largest Premier Inn room we've stayed in, the corridors are wide enough to drive a car through and everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was aircon which we didn't use, a rainfall shower, plenty of TV channels to choose from and a fairly reliable if somewhat slow Internet. The only slight negative was the price of the car park at £14 per night but that's about the going rate in York where everything is expensive. We would be very happy to stay there again and would recommend it.”

“Very friendly staff and clean warm rooms. Easy to walk into York and pretty quiet at night. Didn't eat in the restaurant although that appeared to be popular at breakfast and was good value. Parking is free until 5pm on your departure day which is another bonus. Definitely recommended.”
