"My partner and I stayed here in February. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are lovely and it is a 5-10 minute walk from the centre. It has a homely feel, and is very clean and fresh. I have stayed in a few places in York previously and this is now my favourite. We will be definitely returning. Thank you for a lovely stay!"

"We stayed in room number 23 for one night in December 22. The room was spacious and quiet. However, there was no hot water and the shower was making a dreadful noise. When we approached the manager the next day, they didn’t seem liked they cared. Their answer was, you should have called someone, and we could have fixed it. I did not want to call someone at 2am, so we had to put up with this. The manager said that this is a regular occurrence, and it sometimes happens every three days to every three months. My suggestion would be, to rectify this problem, before a guest stays over night. Free parking was offered, which was taken up a gesture of good will. However, I had to push for this. Overall, good location, but have stayed in better within the town."

"I booked through Groupon we have just recently got married and this was paid for from a friend as a wedding present. The afternoon tea and prosecco was lovely and Joseph's the manger upgraded us to the bootham suite when checked in which was a lovely touch .we loved the room very spacious and clean. The breakfast was great we will definitely be back fantastic stay thanks Amanda and phil jolly x"

"Just returned from overnight stay in York a party of 7 ladies at the b and b Hotel. Hotel is located about 20 minutes leisurely stroll from centre. Located in a quiet street andis beautifully decorated and very clean. Excellent breakfast and free tea coffee and water through out the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We all said we had never stayed in a hotel were the staff were so friendly. Would definitely stay there again."
