"I had a terrible experience at the CVS located at 338 East 23rd Street. I got in line at 7:45 PM and was attended to at 7:53 PM. When I went to pick up my prescription, the attendant seemed completely clueless. When I asked why I couldn't take the other prescriptions that were ready, he couldn't give me a reasonable explanation. After some confusing back-and-forth, he finally convinced me that I could only pick up one prescription and would have to come back the next day for the rest. It was 7:57 PM, and the pharmacy closes at 8:00 PM. There was absolutely NO WARNING that the gate between the client area and the cashier would close at 8:00 PM. While I was about to sign for my prescription, someone started lowering the gate abruptly. If I hadn't pulled my arm out in time, it could have been seriously hurt. The gate shut between me, the cashier, and the machine waiting for my signature. Not a single word from the attendant—no apology, no guidance, nothing. They just shut the gate in the middle of a transaction and left me there. He had the medication in his hand but didn't finish the transaction, and I left without it. This is the third time I've encountered disrespectful attendants and pharmacists at this location. It's a shame on CVS! If it weren't for my insurance being through CVS Caremark, I would avoid CVS entirely. WORST customer service I've ever experienced. Robots would be more respectful than the staff at this location."

"I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at the CVS pharmacy located at 338 East 23rd Street, and I feel compelled to share my negative review. Firstly, I relied on the opening hours displayed online, which indicated that the pharmacy opens at 7:00 a.m. However, when I arrived at 6:59 a.m., there was an employee just opening the front gate. I approached her to confirm the opening time, and she confirmed that it was indeed 7:00 a.m. However, she mentioned that she had to wait for another employee to arrive in order to fully open the pharmacy. This situation was highly unprofessional and frustrating for me. Not only was I forced to wait outside in the cold, but I had to waste valuable time for another employee to arrive. It is unacceptable for a well-known pharmacy chain like CVS to not have sufficient staffing in order to open on time. As if that wasn't bad enough, even when another employee arrived while I was leaving, they still closed the gate and seemed ready to make me wait even longer. This further demonstrates their lack of consideration for their customers' time and comfort. I believe that customer service should be a top priority for any business, especially when it comes to a pharmacy where people often rely on timely access to medication and healthcare essentials. This experience at the CVS pharmacy on 338 East 23rd Street completely failed to meet the basic expectation of professionalism. I hope that CVS management takes this review seriously and addresses the issues mentioned. It is vital for them to improve their staffing and organizational practices to ensure that customers receive the quality service they deserve. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this CVS pharmacy location to others."
